My favorite sushi spot in Vancouver. No cooked dishes.

Quite a good sushi restaurant, tad on the expensive side, but the quality of the food is good and served nicely.

Authentic Japanese food with friendly stuff

The food might be good, but I never got the chance to try it. We waited half an hour for a seat and were finally placed at a small table. Just as we began to order, the table next to us asked for their check. Out of nowhere, the waitress requested that we move to a bar table, **explaining they needed to combine two tables for a larger group of guests**. **This abrupt disruption—after we’d already settled in—felt disrespectful.**
It’s clear the restaurant prioritizes turnover over customer comfort, **blatantly prioritizing profit margins** instead of ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Very local spot near the London drugs and the walk in clinic/lifelabs. Small restaurant with limited seats, they have a policy that all members of the party need to be here to be seated. Takeout is possible but not through the app, just through the phone or in person.

The food was very good, lots of vegetarian options which is nice to see. Large menu - all made fresh. We sat at the bar and watched the sushi chefs at work. Felt like a true authentic Japanese experience. They also sell some Japanese snacks near the door.

Quick service, we were here on a weekday at 5pm when they opened. Restaurant was pretty empty and the service was wonderful. Imagine that this place gets very busy on the weekend. It’s closed on Mondays.

The washrooms were very nice and clean!

Would be back! Highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner!

Amazing food and the service went above and beyond. Easily the best Sushi in Vancouver!

Delicious food and authentic japanese flavours. The owners are japanese and so are all the chefs. Would definitely recommend 10/10

Small local Japanese restaurant located in Kerrisdale. The fish is fresh and execution is on point at Sushi Bar Ajisai.

We enjoy the assorted sushi platters subbing out the unagi for a scallop.
My favourite bite was the fresh ebi - shrimp.

This is a first come first serve venue.
Staff is courteous, attentive and welcoming.

There is a small bar seating area where you can watch the busy kitchen chef team fill the orders while you eat. Separately, there is a u shape configuration of smaller tables on the other end of the restaurant.

Parking can be found along the street.

Deep comfort, my favorite in Vancouver

Wonderful off the track Japanese restaurant. Limited seating so I thought the 4 of us would have a long wait, but we opted for the sushi bar and had the best experience since Japan in Santiago, Chile. The chefs busy at the bar answered our several questions and recommended and prepared excellent dishes - seared mackerel box sushi was my favourite of the night.

I used to love this place, but my recent visit was a huge letdown. I came in with my kid, expecting the same quality service and atmosphere that made this restaurant famous over the years. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant.

The service was practically nonexistent. Aside from delivering food and refilling our water (only after I asked), the staff seemed disinterested and unengaged. I was told to scan the menu the moment I sat down, while the other table was handed a paper form of menu. Not to mention that they only have 5 tables of customers at that time. What really upset me was the payment situation. I forgot my wallet but realized I could pay with my digital wallet. When I asked if they accepted e-transfer, instead of giving me a clear answer, a server rudely questioned me about where I lived. She repeated herself three times, making the interaction incredibly awkward and uncomfortable.

When I showed her my phone and explained I could pay with my digital wallet, she noticed my Amex card and abruptly said they don’t accept Amex. I told her I had other cards, but by then, the damage was done. The whole conversation felt accusatory, as if I was being questioned about my ability to pay.

It’s disappointing to see how much this place has changed. I won’t be returning.

My go to sushi restaurant in Kerrisdale. Fresh seafood, courteous staff, and pleasant ambience in this Japanese run establishment. I particularly like their luncheon menu for value and quality.
