The first time we went my wife and I ordered way way too much. A 6-pack Brooklyn red top and a 14” traditional style for the 2 of us. Next time we went back we ordered the same thing! Ha. It’s starting to be a tradition of ordering way too much at AJs only because it’s that friggin good!!

The pizza is great, but website info is misleading for the Parmesan dip. We paid $3.50 expecting liquid dip like the website says, but we got a Parmesan powder instead. We wouldn’t pay $3.50 if we knew it wasn’t a dip.

Disappointed with their pizzas on every occasion.Our direct take-out pizza (not food delivery, we collected it ourselves) yesterday was warm, not hot, with a dried-out base and was served with barely any cheese (a margarita). The cheese covered less than 10% (there was practically no cheese..).This is the second time it has happened - we put the first time down to a one-off, but they are consistently mediocre with their take-out quality in our experience. Maybe eating at a table in the restaurant is different.AJ's do not appear to prioritize pick-up customers. Adapting their app / procedures might help.Why is it like this? Seems their procedure is like this:They cook your pizza and leave it on the top of their pizza oven once done (pretty standard industry practice) - but don't adapt the time they message you for pick-up.So your pizza can sit and dry out for as long as they find it convenient for them, not convenient for you and the hot pizza you want to enjoy... so in our case probably 30 mins or so ... and knowing this happened last time, we arrived EARLY to try and prevent them doing this again. No luck, this is their procedure.To summarize, they send you a pick-up time at time of order and cook it when they find it convenient in their schedule but don't adjust the pick-up time ... would not be rocket science to sort this out with all the flexibility apps can give. Lame.And sparse toppings? - maybe it's down to the chef making this individual pizza, but the lack of cheese on this margarita was DESPERATE. C'mon, sort it out. They are a restaurant making pizzas. It's meant to be their specialty.We considered taking the food back, but the line up was outside the door - plus we'd already waited about 60 mins on their app ordering service - and we're not confident they'd prioritize resolving this.We won't order from them again nor recommend.

The first time we ordered takeout here, we waited for 20 minutes in the restaurant because they forgot the garlic knots on our order and had to make them from scratch. We finally got them, and they didn’t offer any sort of discount or offer. When we opened up our order, there were 5 garlic knots and the two pizza’s were cold since they just left them on the steel counter while they made the garlic knots.The second time I ordered from them, I got it delivered. I wanted to try their pizza again because I’ve heard good things and decided to give it a second chance. The pizza crust was burnt to a crisp and the pie was super flat.Very underwhelming and disappointing. I wanted to like AJ’s so bad but it just didn’t happen.

I’ve been meaning to try the Brooklyn Sicilian Pizza for awhile, happened to be on the east side this afternoon, so I grabbed one on the way home to the north shore. This pizza was delicious! It’s heavy in the box, and the crust is thick, but it was surprisingly light and airy. The tomato sauce, toppings, and cheese were perfect. Most of the pizza in Vancouver and especially on the north shore is either a tasteless franchise or simply just disappointing, but not AJ’s - this pizza was awesome!, and well worth the drive.
