Loved this place from beginning to end! A welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, very tasty food/fish/sushi, reasonable pricing, and the tip options on the credit card terminal included a 12% option!!, which I never see anymore. Needless to say that I did not choose this option because of how wonderful my experience was :)

Had take out from here and found the sushi rice a bit on the hard side…maybe take out isn’t a good option and dining in is better. Fish was fresh. Also had a oyako-don that needed more egg, but the chicken was tender.

The owner is amazing—friendly and welcoming—and the staff are always great. Whether dining in or ordering takeout, Akira never disappoints.

Our friend order food , however the order went through to a different location. He is lives Kingston, Ontario the order went to Vancouver, B.C. He called the store and asked to be issued a refund. This store Vancouver refused to refund charge!!! Explained the order was supposed to go the Kingston location.
Told them there was no way the order could be picked up in Vancouver!
ISSUE THE REFUND! Calling credit card company to issued the charges back!

Wonderful little restaurant with surprisingly good food. From the first sip of the genmaicha, to the miso, to the sushi, tempura, and other dishes, this is a gem that we will certainly return to often.
