The staff was VERY unaccommodating when we mistakenly placed 2 identical orders instead of 1. It was delivery on a 1+1 offer item but the staff refused to cancel it stating that the ‘food is ready’ hence can’t be cancelled. Might sound fair but it’s ridiculous as a customer to not have an option to cancel an order within 5 whole Minutes of placing it. How they treat a genuine customer says a lot about the establishment. It’s a no go for me!👎
Authantic taste and fresh
Refused to serve my jewish friend . Your owner and staff are toxic . We condemn your culture in canada . Deport !!!!
This place is all about the presentation, but don’t let that fool you...the food is a complete letdown. Everything I ordered was dry, bland, and seriously lacking in flavor. The falafel? It was like eating a week old scone. So dry I needed a drink just to get it down. And they really had the nerve to serve that to a paying customer? Just because it’s takeout doesn’t mean I won’t notice how bad it is.
The rest of the food wasn’t any better. The dips were flavorless, the hummus tasted like plain mashed chickpeas and overall, it felt like they forgot seasoning existed. For a place that tries to present itself as top vegan Middle Eastern food, they completely missed the mark.
The only thing that was halfway decent was the bread, but let’s be real, that’s not enough to justify the price. Definitely wouldn’t come back.
So sad this place is closing down! Incredible, authentic, wholesome food and service. Truly one of a kind.

I just got an e-mail from Aleph saying that they will be providing a pick-up/delivery service for a short while - this comes after being informed that they would be closing for good. Their e-mail prompted me to share about how much I have loved this restaurant, its food, and its staff. I've spent so many meaningful occasions here, from valentine's dinners, to meeting special friends, to just coming in for a delicious levantine experience. The food is delicious and the menu is creative. The staff are always kind and jovial. And the joy one feels when ordering the 'Free Falasteen' drink can't be described in words; it is the endorphin dose that we all need from time to time. I hope Aleph stays around forever, but even if not, I am forever thankful for the memories <3

Tamara Cassidy The problem is that this beautiful, cruelty-free establishment that represented Peace as well as nonviolence has closed; but now they will open a carnist one - a really gruesome eyesore that will be full of Animal abuse and death, and the exploitation and violence that killed them, as well as their young. Isn't there enough violence in the World - particularly in Palestine - without adding more against Animals who are just as innocent and vulnerable as children who have been blown up, dismembered, or heartbroken because their families were? Our money and donations paid off a good part of their debt only to allow Crimes Against Animals to continue.

We stopped by Aleph recently for dinner and were so pleasantly surprised. The food was creative and delicious, friendly service, and the location is cozy with tons of cookbooks displayed for creative inspiration at home. The Silk Road plate was an incredible mix of flavours!

What an excellent find! I'm not vegan or vegetarian but my husband is, so we went here for his birthday. It was amazing. We did the Jerusalem Special, which was so much good food for the price. The service was incredible and it's very cute and cosy inside. Absolutely will be back!
