They need to train the staff that using the glass rinse device is nessarary to remove the drying detergent used in the last cycle of the dishwasher, this detergent could pose health risk, and leaves a horrible mouth feel in the drink the glass is served in. That's why they are installed in the bar, right? I had a conversation with the staff member serving beer and they said they were never trained to use this device, they did use it for me but continued serving beers without using it, with glasses off the shelf loaded fresh from the dish washer.
This practice should be regular, not optional for 27$ for two beers without tip.

This place used to be really good. But now? Now, it’s just terrible. The food is bad, the service is bad, even the atmosphere on a Friday night is sad. Do yourself a favour and never order fish: it was the most dried fish, not fresh, and it was $29! The only good thing are some beers, that’s it. But it’s pretty sad to come back to Van after a year abroad (where things are cheaper and higher quality) and find out that not just this place but a lot of other ones, which used to be good, are now now expensive and really bad. It’s just sad and disappointing. Van was never a party town but we had good food before. Now even that is gone. So eventually even this place will close down, like many others before. But hey, at least we had some good memories.

I don't know what was more disappointing, the food (definitely overpriced for its quality) or the service. We had FOUR different people serving us, and they didn't communicate with each other. It was chaotic and sometimes rude, and overall a hot mess.
Hopefully we just went on an off night and this isn't their norm. Personally, though, I won't be back.

Alibi Room was such a good experience. Great vibe, delicious food, and a huge craft beer selection. Pouya took care of us really well and made everything smooth and enjoyable. Perfect spot for a nice evening out—highly recommend it.

Came here for a birthday party and from the start the service was horrible. There was only 8 of us. Server forgot part of our order which was awful because it was the order of the birthday person. The server also got part of the food order wrong and made excuses and blamed us for it. When food did come they provided no plates, cutlery or napkins. We had some guests that came a little bit late and although we told the server they arrived, he didn’t ask them if they wanted a drink.
Food itself was mediocre but the beers were decent.
We came to conclusion since they automatically add an 18% gratuity, the server did not care to give us good service. The service we received did not deserve that gratuity.
The washroom was confusing too. It’s gender neutral and I am a female and had to share a washroom with two men who were peeing in the urinals right beside me. I did not feel comfortable at all and don’t like how there is no choice.
Awful place, none of us would ever dine here again. Do not recommend at all. Don’t go here.
