Hands down one of the best, if not the best, Mexican spots in town. The food is always on point, the drinks are awesome, the staff are lovely, and the vibe is great year round. Their dog friendly, covered, heated patio in the winter is just amazing and it’s an absolute vibe.

Emilio is simply the best. Super kind, genuinely welcoming and his knowledge of Mexican spritzes is next level. Their agave spirit collection is really solid too, with some bottles that are truly rare in Canada. If you’re into tequila and mezcal tastings, this is definitely one of the top places you need to check out.

Was out on the town this past Sunday with my mom and we were hungry. Being vegetarian it can be difficult to please both parties, but Mexican food is usually a safe bet and we were not wrong.
We were helped by two very lovely humans, James and Steffi. I just wanna call them out because they really made the dining experience excellent. Our main server, James, was friendly, funny and just on top of it. He recommended the cauliflower steak: A+!
Will be back ASAP with my partner because apparently I have to try the eggplant tacos, and James would not steer me wrong.

Just dropped in for a quick snack, had the tuna and it was a heavenly, light refresher with handmade crisps, and the best margarita I've ever had ( and I'm a bartender). They make their own agave infused with orange peel. So sexy. And server James was absolutely super with recommendations and was just the right balance of friendly and professional. As someone in the industry, it's lovely to see when someone takes pride in the establishment. Based on his recommendations and raves of just how authentic everything is, I will definitely recommend, and be back with friends to have a full meal. Thank you!

Poor service from the white male server. Came here with my partner on Friday night to celebrate her birthday and was hoping for a romantic date night and instead felt like I was belittled and that our server was preoccupied with making jokes at my expense instead. Not a single respectful interaction and his sarcasm was just overboard. Im all for friendly banter in moderation but I didn’t build the synergy with him for him to keep joking at every interaction, a little respect would have gone much further. Won’t be back. Shame on him, I regret leaving a tip.

We came here for a late lunch/early dinner. It was bumping and smelled great! We were actually seated right away. Our waitress was nice but we kept getting food and drinks delivered to our table that were not for us. the two things I ordered from the menu, they were out of, but the table next to us got them after that? So I ended up getting the guacamole and pork tacos. The chips were nice and the guacamole was fresh but needed salt and lime. The tacos were tasty and the cheese crust was different, definitely intense. My partner got the ceviche and liked it quite a bit. Overall the food ended up being solid but the experience was meh

We had dinner tonight at Alimentaria. They accommodated our table of 9 with ease. Our server, Emilio, was very attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic! The standouts for us were the pork belly, the short ribs, the halloumi and cactus, and the risotto. It was a refreshing take on Mexican cuisine. Will aboslutely return in the near future. Thank you for a delicious meal!

Good atmosphere, affordable drinks, awesome servers. Food is good but not the best Mexican you’ve had.

Pretty tasty food. I must say the pork belly was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The tacos were delicious and perfectly cooked in seasoned. We were a big group of people and we had a lot of fun. The coconut margarita is probably the best thing I've ever tasted in my life. Worth the $16. After 2 I was feeling pretty good! Well definitely go back. I'd love to try the happy hour as well. Really enjoyed this place and I'm excited to go back.

Food was good however the service was really really poor. We waited a long time for any server to come and attend to us. Plates were left cleaned up on our table but not taken away for nearly 40 minutes and in the end rather than ordering another drink or dessert we had to leave to get to a show after waiting forever for someone to come and get our bill.

Just ate at this restaurant. In the heart of Granville Island on a busy sunny Saturday, we were sat on their enclosed patio and it was warm. We were a table of 7. When our party arrived the server came to take our drink and appetizer orders, and those came relatively quickly. Then we placed our entree and those also came relatively quickly. Their happy hour prices were good, the guac, fish tacos, pork belly, and Al pastor was delicious. The food was great. The problem, which will probably be the reason we don't go back here, was with the service after our server left (went on break?). We were completely left abandoned in our corner, with no refills, no check-ins, and no plate clearing. We were done eating at 6pm, and it took us 2 attempts at asking a random server for our cheques and finally walking up as a group to the hostess stand to just pay our bill. This took 45 minutes! There were 3 servers sitting in a closed off area on their phones and people waiting for tables outside and our table had been trying to pay for 45 minutes. Earlier in the night we watched as a woman and her son left before ordering because after they were sat no one came for their order. This is clearly a busy location and rightfully so, the food was great, but the service was so bad that it ruined the whole experience.

Had crispy tostada with refried beans for starters. The spicy chilli oils were the star of the show. Next was the tacos: Wild live-caught halibut tortilla and Beef quesabirria. They were excellent, considering tacos are not my first choice. Topped with a nicely made Mezcalit and I’ll say this was a surprisingly great recommendation. Emilio is a superstar, his recommendations were top notch, service as such should be greatly rewarded.

We felt singled out and uncomfortable at this restaurant during Happy Hour last saturday, where staff consistently ignored us and treated us differently than other guests. Despite the place being quiet, we had to seat ourselves, wait excessively for service, and weren’t given menus or greeted like other customers, who were politely escorted and attended to promptly.
The worst experience came when a server rudely told us to vacate our table for no apparent reason, even with many empty tables around, only bringing our bill after we explained ourselves. There were no racist comments, but the difference in treatment strongly suggested we were being discriminated against.
