This was my fourth visit to Alouette Bistro, and it reminded me exactly why it’s become one of my favourite spots. The staff are always so warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. On my very first visit, they surprised me with three cocktails on the house, which honestly set the tone for how thoughtful their service is.
This time, they gifted me a complimentary cocktail again, and it made the experience feel just as special as the first time. I tried the ratatouille and the baked brie, and both were amazing—the ratatouille was cozy and flavourful, and the baked brie was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced.
From the food to the atmosphere to the consistently incredible staff, Alouette always makes me feel taken care of. It’s the kind of place you keep coming back to.

Overpriced and vile. The ratatouille was just a watery tasteless soup with some vegetables in it. Even the sourdough was bad. Went straight in the bin.

I had my birthday dinner here (table of 6), and we had a great time! Everyone enjoyed her food, which says a lot as we are foodies. I loved my sablefish dish. The beef tartar was done at the table and we enjoyed watching the staff put it all together while introducing every ingredient that went into it. It was delicious!
We felt the complimentary birthday champagne at the end was such a nice gesture from the restaurant, and it added to our celebratory vibes. The restaurant decor is beautiful and elegant. Chairs are comfortable, too. Can’t wait to eat there again (we’ve already been for brunch and happy hour, both were great!)

The food was great, and the wine list was very unique. Fast efficient service too! It can be a bit loud and you're pretty close to other tables, so if the guy next to you happens to be a pompous hot spot real estate agent, that becomes a too-significant part of your experience (for example).

We had a great experience. Our server was attentive, professional, clearly answering our questions; he was sincere.
Our food was delicious. The wine offer was broad; we landed on a BC Cab.
This is a busy restaurant seams a little crowded in a smaller space.

I loved all of the meals I ate here. We stayed at the adjoining hotel and had breakfast here each day. The French toast was delicious and very sweet, and other items we tried were also great. I am at home now and missing the the type of coffee that they served!
For dinner, I had one meal and really enjoyed it. They have a few vegetarian options and the creme brule was amazing. The servers here were so nice and made us feel welcomed with our baby. Will definitely be back!

I spent a delightful afternoon sopping up broth from moules-frîtes and olive oil from shrimp Provençal. Baked brie was also delicious.
It’s a beautiful, high ceilinged space with an open kitchen and black and white movies playing behind the bar. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Highly recommend.

Absolutely everything is perfect. The wait staff, the wine, the food, the location (upstairs), and the food. And the food. Everything is so professional and perfect. I wish I lived in Vancouver.

We just happened to stumble upon this place because I was looking for a brunch place, but I didn’t realize that they only have brunch on weekends. We ordered the French onion soup, Duck Cassoulet, and Ratatouille. I’d definitely recommend the Duck Cassoulet and French onion soup. The restaurant interior is very beautifully designed.

Amazing service!! My husband made a mistake when ordering his eggs and they were soo apologetic and actually removed his breakfast from the bill. If I could give 10 for service I would.

If you are in the mood for a fine French dining experience, Alouette is the place to go. The ambience is absolutely lovely - interesting, intriguing and beautiful. We had the cassoulet (me) and the rack of lamb (husband) and both were absolutely delicious, and definitely not on the small side! The wine list is extensive and wonderful. The bottle we were after was not available, but they made a suggestion of a similar wine, which was really excellent. If you can, go...go...go!
