My Nani (maternal grandmother) was Burmese, so I grew up eating a few staple dishes like Khaosey, Mohinga, and Leh Thoke. Finding Amay's House in Vancouver was incredibly exciting for me since it's so rare to find this cuisine in a commercial setting. It was such a cool experience to taste the rarer foods of my childhood in this wonderful restaurant. If you're in Vancouver, don't miss out on this hidden gem!

Absolutely loved this spot! The Laksa Shrimp and Spicy Fried Fish Flakes (for home) were so good, and the Burmese Style Biryani with Roasted Chicken was just next-level amazing. Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful. The restaurant is cozy with a nice vibe.

Can’t wait to go back and try the Fish Noodle Soup, Prata, and the Tea Leaf Salad. Total hidden gem!

Dinner for one. I had the vermicelli noodles with vegetables and chicken breast. Lots of noodles. Almost no greens. Just a few small pieces of onion and carrot. But very tasty.

First time trying Burmese food, and it was awesome! Similar to other SE Asian cuisines but more Indian influence. Highly recommend the tea leaf salad, very unique and (according to the server because I don't actually know) authentic.

For those who wanna try Burmese cuisines, it is the place you can have most of Myanmar traditional food in Vancouver.
The food is less oil, less MSG and clean. The staff girl is hospitable and charming. The food portion is big, it is affordable and an ambient atmosphere to dine in and chat with friends or family.

First experience trying Burmese cuisine. Very diverse range of flavors and dishes, influenced by neighboring countries like India, Thailand, and China. Tried 4 dishes and planning to return to try the rest. Highly recommended.

Been to this restaurant a handful of times for both takeout dine-in, and through trying a wide variety of the menu it is consistently delicious.

The tea leaf salad is a must-try, nothing else like it. The Coconut chicken is a great portion and intensely flavorful, accompanied with creamy coconut rice. The Laksa and curries are all delicious as well. Samosa and rotis are great snack/appetizers.

The restaurant is very small and sometimes can be full for a weekend lunch or dinner.

Exceptionally friendly staff. Always cannot wait to return to this place!

It was great. The food was amazing. Wouldn’t recommend if you were vegan. I am Burmese and I had some of the food in my life and it was the same as I remember.
