This has to be one of Vancouver's hidden jems! From the outside, it looks like any coffee shop and you think to yourself, oh sure, I'll pop in for a quick iced-coffee. Sure, why not?

And then you walk into the back room and it's like walking into an ode to roadster solitary rider memorabilia. Cool motorcycles, retro helmets and even a vintage leather are displayed. All this with easy listening jazz, cozy couches and a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for everyone from the collage kid studying about emotional intelligence to the couple talking to their real estate broker, to myself... planning where my private practice office space will be... This place is perfect.

Thank you to the owners for creating it and making it available for us. We love it ❤️

used to come here all the time to study. do be aware that they close the back off on fridays so theres limited seating in the front. also came across a barista that was quite impatient and came grumpily to our tables to take our glasses (i was going to do it when i leave)

Gorgeous, amazing, lots of space, best place to either work or hangout, might be my favourite cafe in vancouver, and open late & has good deal on liquor. Just a star example of what makes small business so special.

$12 for the worst egg sandwich you will probably ever have. Really sad because the other stuff is good, but this is criminal. The bread was coming apart before I even touched it.

Their hot chocolate was the best I’ve ever had! The apple croissant is also amazing! Great service, great food, there’s a nice music playing and the decoration is beautiful! Will definitely come back!

This is a unique little coffee shop/pub with a good vibe to enjoy.

ICE CHARGE. I ordered a green tea and asked for it to be iced. Without telling me (and it was not disclosed on the menu) 75c was added to my bill and I only realized after I had paid. What kind of business charges you for ice in an iced drink? This experience just put a bad taste in my mouth.

Finally found a place that adds a shot of baileys for me and the Mrs. Wifi, outlets and usb outlets, plants, cheery staff, everything I love.

Over the past year or so, the quality of Aperture’s food/drinks and service has deteriorated to such a degree that I feel compelled to leave this updated review.

I ordered a matcha latte. It took 10 minutes despite there only being one customer before me. When the barista handed me my drink, it was cold. The barista stared and replied “ok sorry” after being informed of the same. I also informed the cashier that it was cold, and they responded “oh sorry”. There was no offer to re-make my drink, nor was there an offer of a refund. I felt like a jerk, but I couldn’t justify spending $10 on a cold latte and reluctantly requested a refund, which made me feel like a Karen.

The last three occasions ordering the breakfast croissant have been disappointing and expensive. It used to be delicious and made with care. Now, the ingredients are scant and thrown together in a clump and not spread out like a proper sandwich.

My original review from approximately 3 years ago gave Aperture 5 stars and high praise. I am sorry to be giving such a negative review, but it is truly sad that Vancouver’s once-greatest coffee shops has fallen this far. I hope this review will help to galvanize Aperture towards improvement.

The ambience and decor continue to be top notch.

One of my favourite places to work for a while and enjoy a drink or a treat. Calm jazz music and lots of space, relaxing environment.

The good: decor, atmosphere, friendly staff, coffee is good
Not so good: more than 20 minutes wait for a sandwich
Bad: the most pitiful clubhouse sandwich I’ve ever seen, certainly not worth $15

Very disappointing. They forgot my food, tried to give me a different sandwich which was a cheaper price, and wanted me to wait another 15 mins when i already waited for 30min/ for my original order…. I just asked for a refund since they didn’t handle the situation that great. I suggested them to call out names instead of just yelling out the food/ drink names… because it doesn’t make sense to ask where your sitting to deliver and forget peoples orders and where their sitting.

Spring special drink tasted like water. (Cashier said it was sweet) I later asked to exchange for a tea instead and a different cashier told me to pay again since I already drank some of the lemonade. The other worker who knew about the situation just gave me the tea with one tea bag. I asked for another bag as I knew it wouldn’t be strong enough. They said “it’ll be strong”. I should’ve trusted my gut and pushed for the other tea bag. I walk home with slightly flavored water…

Great seating, music and space to work on laptop.
