Ba Le Deli & Bakery (Broadway)

I love the sandwiches, this is one of the best locations, they make their bread here, one thing I would like them to improve is in keeping the tables and area clean for the people that want to eat there.

Always had the best banh mis here until today. Ordered 2 fish cake and 1 lemongrass chicken subs. All 3 were missing mayo which made them incredibly dry. Such a disappointment.

I was really hyped to drop by and order #11 Meatball special today with my friends. When the cashier was taking my order, I specifically ordered #11 Meatball special banh mi sandwich as my friends heard me verbally with iced coffee with milk and proceeded to payment. I thought that everything will be fine as I waited for my order to sit down and enjoy my food.

As I picked up my order, and sat down ready to take a bite of the sandwich. I noticed that it only had meatballs and no other ingredients as stated to the menu for #11. I politely asked the counter that I did not just order meatball banh mi. They did apologized and remade my sandwich. However, before handing my sandwich, the guy who made my sandwich said that it will be another $0.75. Apparently they charged me just meatball banh mi sandwich and not the meatball special pricing. It is ridiculous to have me pay again for a mistake they made on their end.

I do understand that this is a business at the end of the day, but having to get up from my seat a few times to make another payment and pick up my food from the counter is very excessive on their end. My friends and I were just so confused the whole time.

The dine- in area was very warm with no fans or any air circulation. The customer traffic wasn’t high enough for the staff to be too busy to not clean the tables, in addition to crumbs on the chairs as well.

This is my first time coming to this Broadway location. I never had problems with any other locations from the past except this one.

I do understand that this may be a small business like a mom and pop shop and this post isn’t meant to ruin their business but it’s a constructive criticism that hopefully they will take in to consideration to improve customer service.

Normally I am quite happy with the Banh Mis here, but this time I tried their Vegetarian Chicken Banh Mi. Quite possibly the worst I've ever ordered. It was slathered with a sauce that tasted like it was mostly raw ginger juice. Please don't use this sauce anymore!

With the price they charged, I expect there should be reasonable portions of meats. I asked for chili, they did not even bother to put in.

Had been a big fan of Ba Le for quite some time and used to regularly order Banh Mi here. Unfortunately service and the food seem to be decreasing in quality despite the price increases... Recently had coworkers get food poisoning from the pork and sandwiches have been blander, dryer and made with less care. The fresh bread is still lovely but looks like we'll be finding a new Banh mi spot. : (

The best vegan bah mi at a great price. Seriously like the tidy and spicy chickun banh mi are my favourite in the city if not in the world! And they only cost around 8 bucks. Updated from previous review on 2025-03-03

Great menu selection! Only wish I could eat more than the vegetarian option as someone with a shellfish allergy -- not sure why the sauce can't be avoided

There really is no atmosphere . The server was okay. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty. A few GF options.

This location is better than Kingsway lately. When the 2 girls are working the sandwich has perfect amount of ingredients, not too much and not to less.
