My girlfriend and I traveled from Seattle to celebrate our anniversary here, but the experience was extremely frustrating due to the behavior of the manager on duty (possibly named Conner if we heard it correctly)
When we arrived, there was no valet staff outside, and the street parking was completely full so we couldn’t find a safe spot to pull over and look for valet. We had to waited in the middle of the road for a while, until we felt it was really unsafe to stop there and had to leave and find a different parking lot farther away, and walk back.
When we arrived, we were told by Conner that our dining room reservation had been canceled and we had to sit in the lounge because we were late by over 15 mins. We understand and respect the restaurant’s policy, but Conner’s attitude made us very upset. When we explained that our delay was caused by the lack of valet staff outside, he immediately interrupted us in a very defensive tone, insisting that there had “always been valet outside.” Rather than acknowledging our experience, he immediately assumed that we were lying when we pointed out an operational issue on the restaurant’s side, which felt extremely accusatory, offensive and unprofessional.
We also mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary, and Conner’s comment to that was ‘they have guests celebrating every day’, without any acknowledgment or goodwill to make the occasion feel special. No efforts of congratulations.
Moreover, when we asked to speak with another manager, he responded arrogantly, saying that anyone else would give us the same answer. However, that turned out not to be true as another manager came over later and addressed the situation much more professionally. He offered to look into the valet issue and wished us a happy anniversary, and made us feel welcomed. Our server was also excellent and surprised us with chocolates for our anniversary. The food was also great. We still think Bacchus is a good restaurant and left a decent tip to acknowledge the quality of service we received from the rest of the team, but the contrast in professionalism was clear and a manager whose first reaction to guest concerns is denial is not aligned with the standards of the restaurant and really should not be guest-facing

We recently took my parents, who were visiting Vancouver for the first time, to Bacchus for a special family dinner and introduction to our new baby. The evening was absolutely delightful thanks in large part to the incredible service from Franklin and Andrew.
Franklin, our server, was not only attentive and professional but also genuinely warm. He shared some wonderful conversation and even gave us a bit of personal insight about being away from home like my wife and I and how it is raising kids in Canada. He really made my parents feel at home.
To top it off, Franklin introduced us to Andrew, an Irish staff member, who came over to say hello. Andrew was equally fantastic and spent a little time chatting with my folks, making them feel like they had a piece of home right there with them. It was a lovely personal touch.
Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I really want to highlight how wonderful both Franklin and Andrew were. They made the night extra special and gave my parents a truly welcoming experience. Bacchus is lucky to have them!

We love oysters: 3 were microscopic (I thought the shell was empty), 3 were 1/2 teaspoon in size, 3 were maybe a teaspoon, 3 were as big as a small mussel. We stared in shock. What a terrible way to begin a celebratory meal. Any respectable shucker would be embarrassed. A reasonable food server would have questioned the offering. An attentive manager on duty would have flagged it - or comp’ed it. As a starter, it was pathetic. At a price of 50$, it was shocking. I was treated to a dinner here for my birthday. No one likes to complain — so it was “grin and bear it” time at Bacchus. A meal we had looked forward to for over a month.
We are polite by nature. We tip 20%, as we did here — even though this was a ‘team fail’ at Bacchus.

Our fine dining experience at Bacchus Restaurant was absolutely exceptional! 🤩 From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant and entertaining, perfectly complemented by the wonderful live music. 🎶 The food was truly outstanding, but what made the night extra special was the service. ✨ Frank provided excellent care, ensuring every detail was perfect with a professional and welcoming touch. 👨🍳 It is rare to find such a seamless blend of high-quality cuisine and a lively, engaging ambiance. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning. 💯 Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable night out! 🥂 #Dining #Experience #Restaurant #Atmosphere #Music #Food #Service #Care #Cuisine #Ambiance #Night

Came here for New Year’s Eve and was disappointed by the customer service. Despite having dined here many times over the years and previously enjoying New Year’s Eve here, the experience this year was rigid and unwelcoming.
Simple requests were met with unnecessary attitude, and staff seemed more focused on enforcing arbitrary rules than creating a celebratory atmosphere. For a venue that positions itself as upscale and hospitable, this felt like a complete miss, especially on a night meant to be festive.

Bacchus offers a lively and festive dining experience, especially with the Christmas décor adding a warm, celebratory touch. The food was tasty overall, and service was impressively quick. The cocktails were well made and definitely worth ordering.
One downside was dessert, the chocolate cake wasn’t my favourite, as it was slightly dry and too dense. Reservations are a must, and the lack of parking can be a bit of a hassle, so plan ahead.
Overall, a great spot for date night, particularly if you enjoy good cocktails and a vibrant atmosphere.

Great night celebrating my daughter’s engagement. The food was amazing—from the seafood tower to the lobster bisque to the duck breast. The service was impeccable, and the wine sommelier’s recommendations for both white and red were excellent and at a very reasonable price point. A true 10/10 experience!

We came here for Sunday brunch. The place is packed with very limited waitresses. Very slow service as we waited 10 mins for water.
Ordered the steak & egg. Horrible food as the steak is not fresh. Small portion also. Won’t come back!

I've been lucky enough to visit some fancy schmancy restaurants this year around the globe and there is not ONE, that comes close to this place in terms of speed of service.
Everything was done fast, but everything was still the quality you'd expect.

Dead mouse at the table in a Michelin-starred restaurant?!
We had an extremely disturbing experience at this restaurant. Service was poor from the start, the server seemed distracted and we waited an unusually long time just to place our order. At one point I accidentally dropped my phone and had to retrieve it from the curtains next to our table.
When our food was finally brought out, I noticed the server looked visibly uncomfortable and avoided eye contact. I then looked down and saw a dead mouse at the base of the curtains, directly next to my feet. I immediately pointed it out.
Five staff members came over. None of them appeared surprised. The mouse was removed with a broom and dustpan at our table. We were given a vague excuse about an “unwanted guest due to the change of seasons,” which is hardly convincing in late December, and completely unacceptable regardless.
What made this worse is that I had just been reaching into those same curtains to retrieve my phone, meaning I may have touched or been exposed to the area where the dead mouse was. No concern for hygiene, health, or guest safety was expressed.
We were only offered a round of drinks as compensation. No apology that matched the severity of the situation, no manager intervention, and no reassurance about sanitation.
This is not a minor inconvenience, this is a serious sanitation issue and completely incompatible with any restaurant claiming Michelin-level standards.
We paid approximately $450 for an evening that involved a dead mouse at our table and dismissive handling of a health hazard. That is not just disappointing, it is unacceptable
Soothing piano live music at 5pm. Food is good. Pumpkin soup is delicious. Chicken thighs are phenomenal 😍
