My friend just came back from Ireland and their pub culture is quite different from what we offer here in Canada. Ballyhoo, however, captures some of that atmosphere.

Been here a few times now. Happy hour is a good deal but with consistently bad pizza and not great service, I won't be back. But they do have a pool table so there's that.

Stopped here on the way to a movie at the Scotiabank Theatre. The bar is right across from the theatre and provides great food and drinks 🍹. It’s got great views and has a nice atmosphere. My wife and I enjoyed the ambiance and the time spent here was worth it. We sat outside on the patio and loved it. Great for people watching. If we are in the area we would come back.

The reviews praising this place must be paid - every single item here is designed to gouge you. $20 for wings, just an appetizer meant to share with others, it took around 30 minutes to come out and when it did we were presented with 6 wings on a tiny plate. I should have taken a picture, it was laughable and we were in disbelief. This is just an example of a business shrinking everything to the absolute max to see what they can get away with instead of offering people a decent meal at a fair price. Please do not support places like this.

We came to Ballyhoo as a group of 21 people today for a work outing and had a great experience. A group like that isn’t easy but our server was fantastic. She was on top of everything, remembered peoples orders, very attentive and friendly. Food came out quickly and everything was hot. Very good experience and would recommend to any big group!

Been wanting to try Ballyhoo out for awhile now. My girlfriend and I finally made it on Sept 5, 2025. We got seated on the patio side with actual tables (burrard side). We waited and waited for service for 10 plus minutes. No one came back, no water, nothing. We were left alone with absolutely no service at all. Looking around there were other tables before us that haven't been served or dealt with. I started feeling as tables were there longer than us and haven't been served as all the tables just had menus on them and the look in there eyes. Is someone coming.

We waited 15 minutes and then left, went to another establishment close by, spent money. Is this the state of the hospitality industry in Vancouver or just.........

This has been the worst Hospitality I have ever experiance in my 30 years living in Vancouver. Will never go back or too another Donnelly location.
