Went here 2 nights ago with my spouse, my daughter and her partner. Wonderful experience. Very nice atmosphere (cozy and quiet), excellent service and great food. 2 meat eaters and 2 vegetarians. All of us really enjoyed our food.

Ordered yellow chicken curry which we always do. It came as a single chicken leg with skin in a broth like water hard to believe! They say they no longer use chicken breast? Just leg. The sauce wasn’t sauce either - like water. Waste of our money. Very disappointing and would not refund the dish. Won’t be back! Beware of your ideas. All changed

Prawn traps: large prawns wrapped in wonton wraps, average and a bit pricey imoGrilled pork cheeks: fatty but not oily, just tender and smoky, the star of the show!Beef salad: the sauce was good, beef was a bit tough thoMassaman beef(?): couldn’t remember, normal red curry tasteGreen curry chicken: lighter than massaman curry, average green curryPad Thai chicken and tofu: very good pad Thai, sweet and sour, so we ordered

Uber eats order F0268 yesterday was disappointing since we always enjoyed the food and service dining in. The mussaman chicken curry came with a leg and thigh instead of a breast and the panang curry came with fewer prawns that my wife had dining in not too long ago.

This restaurant has changed ownership AND menu. My favourite items are gone and the new options are far from what I once enjoyed there. My long ago review:Five stars. Please don’t tell anyone about this restaurant. It will get too busy! Chris and the family bring classic and delightfully spicy (if you ask) Thai cuisine.

"Having recently dined at Bangkok City Cafe for the second time, I must say the experience was outstanding. The Thai Northern East cuisine they offer truly encapsulates authentic flavors that resonate well with my taste buds. Not only was the food exceptional, but the prices were reasonable, adding immense value to the dining experience. The transition to new ownership has been a game-changer; the revamped menu reflects innovation and quality. The cozy ambiance of the restaurant provided a comfortable setting for a delightful meal. The staff members were incredibly friendly, enhancing the overall atmosphere with their warm hospitality.Furthermore, I was thoroughly impressed with the amazing service. It's evident that the changes made, especially with the new owner and menu, have elevated Bangkok City Cafe to another level. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for an authentic Thai dining experience coupled with great service and a welcoming environment."

I had a very disappointing experience here. I ordered a fish curry, which ended up having small pieces of chicken in it and even a piece of hard PLASTIC!! When I raised this, they refused to refund the rest of the meal even though they admitted fault (I had no interest in eating anything else that came out of that kitchen that day). Would never eat here again, apparently they changed ownership and it shows.

Food was amazing, with many plant-based options. What struck me the most was the kindness of people working here, always with a smile on their face and very accommodating to dietary restrictions. Affordable, too!Vegetarian options: I asked my pad Thai vegan and they accommodated that!

This is the best Thai food I've found in Vancouver and the people that run it are so kind. 15/10

Quiet spot for casual thai fare. The guy working the front of house (possibly the owner?) Was incredibly sweet and talkative, convinced me to try the corn salad along with my order of roti. I'm glad he did! The ingredients were fresh and flavourful, and despite being a saucy dish it was also crisp with good texture. The red curry sauce that came with the roti was extra creamy and savoury, which made the dish feel substantial and satisfying. Prices are good for the portion size, I waddled out of there after finishing my two appetizers.

Food was very good and affordable (under $20). Gong Pad Kari was amazing. The prawns tasted good and were good size (unlike other restaurants that serve shrimp then call it prawns, prawns here were real). The owner was very polite. Restaurant kind of had a Christmas feel with the green walls and red decor, as an asian, I actually liked it. I recommend

Excellent food at reasonable price. Spring rolls are the best have had in the last ten years. Pad Thai is really good and I do not normally order that dish. Ordered it today because my sister-in-law from Toronto was out on a visit.
