The Banter Room was recommended by our concierges from the hotel. He described it as good food, chic, and a great vibe. We went and we were greeted nicely by the hostess. The service went down from there. Our waitress was inattentive. She was polite when she did stop at the table. However, we were passed by multiple times. There were 2 different servers. We noticed they were talkative to some tables and blew off others. There was a server(?) who walked around and collected items from the tables. Not one time did she smile or acknowledge us. She reminded me of a peacock strutting her stuff and we were not worthy of words. Well finally we decided we had had enough and would go elsewhere. However, we could not flag our waitress down to get the check. Both servers avoided eye contact. SMH. A server was walking by (who had not been waiting on us), and we stopped her. We asked her name and it was Kaitlin. She was so warm, friendly and helpful. She smiled and made us feel welcome. We wish that she had been our waitress from the beginning. I would be leaving 5 stars if she were. I strongly encourage management to have Kaitlin do a class on customer service. I believe all the waitresses could learn a thing ot two from Kaitlin. For starters how about introducing yourself and just smile?

We were visiting from out of town. Someone at our hotel recommended the Banter Room. We were greeted very well and sat at a table outside immediately. We had 2 waitresses that were non-attentive, and had to be flagged down for every interaction. We ordered drinks and expressed that we were having difficulty deciding on what to order for food. Instead of making suggestions or giving helpful hints, she just walked away. We then tried with the second waitress, and she said, let me know when you decide, and walked away. After our drinks and appetizers, we didnt see either waitress for 15-20 min. So we decided it was time to go. We flagged down a 3rd waitress named Kaitlyn. Too bad we didnt have her from the start. She was friendly, outgoing, gave us ideas on where to go while visiting Vancouver. What a 180 degree turn. If you go to Banter Room your experience will depend on who you get to wait on you. Ask for Kaitlynn

Had an amazing experience at Banter Room! The food and drinks were top-notch, but what really made the night stand out was Kaitlin’s service. She was so attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel welcome. She had great recommendations, checked in at all the right times, and kept the energy fun without ever feeling rushed. It’s rare to find someone who makes the whole experience that much better, and Kaitlin definitely did. Huge shoutout to her — we’ll definitely be back!

Yaletown, the Banter Room is a treat that must be tried by all. The extensive menu does not disappoint. Happy Hour is daily 2-5PM. We enjoyed salmon oshi, wagu sliders and chicken chopped salad. We are coming back to sample the rest of the menu one by one! Delightful and tasty to say the least.

My 5 star review is 100% based on the server we had named Sky. I asked for a skinny margarita and when I got it, it was exactly what I asked for, but it was super super tart and I really didn’t enjoy it.. She absolutely made sure that they got it right and I loved it. She was adorable and gave us perfect service.
