Great ambience, food was tasty.

What ruined it for me, the server came up to me and asked if I wanted another beer, I said yes. She serves me a Pale Ale, after I've had two IPAs that night. I politely say this is the wrong beer, and she responds with, "how am I supposed to know what beer you're drinking?!" Hmmmmm...

I was really excited to visit this restaurant since it’s in the Michelin Guide, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations.

When we arrived for our reservation, our table wasn’t ready, and we had to wait outside for about 15 minutes. The server kindly offered us a free glass of wine to make up for it, which was a nice touch. However, when we were finally seated, we were given bar seats instead of a table.

Another disappointment was the menu—it was much smaller and completely different from what was shown online. As a vegetarian, my options were already limited, and to make things worse, they had run out of three major dishes.

That said, the cabbage salad we ordered as a starter was delicious and packed with flavor. For our mains, we got the steelhead, but it was raw in the middle. We sent it back, and they replaced it with a new one plus an extra piece of fish. The other main was tasty but overly salty.

To make up for the steelhead issue, they gave us a free dessert, which we appreciated. Throughout the meal, the service was great, and the staff did their best to make up for the inconveniences. However, between the menu limitations, food inconsistencies, and seating situation, I wouldn’t return, especially considering how expensive it is.

This was probably the worst tasting food I ever had at a Vancouver restaurant. Got the tasting menu. Was not cheap. And food was awful, the main dish consisted of fish that was unseasoned, just plain fish without even salt? The good reviews are very deceiving, this place has awful food and it’s very expensive, there’s so many delicious restaurants in Vancouver, skip this one!!

Found this small but great place last night when I had an hour to spend, waiting my son's soccer practice to finish.
Sat on the bar and tried the 2 starters with 2 glasses of wine. Food was excellent. The lamb dumplings were out of this world.
Service was excellent. Can't wait to come again and try more from the menu.

My friend booked it for dine out,
Such a great reviews made us all excited!
1.It was 4 of us but they charged us for food+20% service charge through the booking, been paid deposit for the table but never been paid full price (for food) plus tips before even got the service
Overall the staff are very friendly and nice but the food was a different story
We’ve tried everything on the menu since it’s 4 of us and we were hungry and the portions were so so but we couldn’t even finish any of dishes everything was so salty and the dumplings were chewy and cold the rice was not cooked and compared to what we got and what we paid it’s overrrrrrpriced
We had to go somewhere else to eat afterwards

The only thing we liked was the burrata and bread from our 500.00 meal

Every time I’ve been to Bar Gobo has been a truly special experience. Peter’s passion, knowledge, and world-class hospitality makes each visit so memorable. Dining on chef Jiwon’s creative creations was such a delight as well. Wishing everyone at Bar Gobo many years of fruitful success! Thank you for creating such a welcoming, elevated space in this neighbourhood.

the manager was so helpful and knowledgable with the wines. service was just perfect and the food was sublime. I would recommend the savoy cabbage, the pork belly and the duck. there was someone on the vinyl decks behind us djing some good tunes, although it was slightly on the loud side. overall great vibe and great date location. what a cool place!

Vegetarian options: a good selection of vege options in the “snacks” section

My new favourite spot! Amazing food, service and ambiance and music! Our server (can’t recall his name) was a fountain of knowledge regarding wine. The food menu is small but everything on it is exquisite. Fresh ingredients with no fuss.

Outstanding food , great combination of unusual flavors and ingredients - super creative ! Hazelnut tart was a dream to end with. Only negative comment - its a bit cramped with the tables, felt like the people next to us were having dinner with us!!

As big fans of Burdock & Co, we decided to try this restaurant, and it was an excellent surprise ! The space is small but cozy, with a welcoming bar and great ambiance.
The food is creative, delicious, and perfectly portioned. We tried almost the entire menu, and everything was spot on.
The service was attentive and professional, making the experience even better. A fantastic spot—highly recommended!

Wow! Great food, service, drinks AND an amazing sound system. Vancouver really needed a vinyl listening bar like this... looking forward to going back to try more things.

Parking: There is free street parking nearby and paid street parking in front.

This restaurant has been on our list for a long time and yesterday we had the pleasure of confirming why we wanted to go there so much. Great quality food and a very comfortable atmosphere that reminded us of our trips to incredible places in Europe. We tried all the Happy Hour options and will be back for the tasting menu. The BBQ Pork Belly is phenomenal!!
