Came in here and had a wonderful time. The staff were all so kind and friendly! The food was delicious and their squash rings are a victory š definitely come and eat here!

Great experience here - the chef our night had a great menu, and the wine selection was perfect for the meal. Definitely a spot worth trying out in the city, and it is a very reasonable walk from downtown hotels

Bar Tartare is by far my favourite wine bar in the city. The staff are so well educated and knowledgeable about their products and I love the rotating chefs. They really bring together Vancouver's best!
I got married here over a year ago, and I cannot say enough good things about the team and the space. They were so accommodating, and really went above and beyond for us.

Okay so normally love bar tartare like I usually recommend it to my friends when they want to try a new wine bar. Today I came by around 7pm for a table of 4 and the guy at the front said they were all full and to come back around 7:30. No big deal so we went to grab a drink somewhere else and come back. We come back and he said to wait maybe 20 more mins so we sat outside and waited for a little bit. 20 mins later he comes out he says itās still full and to try again perhaps at 8:30. At this point we were a bit annoyed but okay no problem. We were pretty hungry so we went to get a bite at LOCAL and so we come back around 9pm to try again. He then said āahhh so I saved a table for you guys at 8:30 but itās too late and now we are full again.ā. Not to blame that they were full like obviously itās a Friday night. I didnāt like how they handled our interaction, and I think the second time around he shouldāve asked us for a phone number to notify us if a table is ready. Like how were we supposed to know it wouldnāt be available after his past two times he said were incorrect? Clearly we were really wanting to go and would be staying awhile. There wasnāt even a line or anything when we came back and checked in with . Anyways I felt like coming back three/four times to be turned away was just embarrassing and left a sour taste.

It was a misty Friday in Vancouver. Reunited with an old friend, we were in the mood to celebrate and to Dear Gus we went. Only to discover that there was not a natural wine in sight š³ We didn't panic. I calmy pulled out my trusty cellular device and ordered a private car to Bar Tartare.
We danced while we waited and within a flash we arrived into the red light cellar that is Bar Tartare š„© Our hearts in staccato as we pulled the glass doors ajar, we feared the Friday evening rush was at its peak.
A charming host stated the obvious, they were full and suggested we come back at ten...with a wink. He put us at ease. We returned promptly and were seated at a cozy table.
The rest is history. Plentiful bottles open by the glass. OG natural wine international champions. Up and coming BC producers with hybrid varietals. Delicious tuna tostada and other Mexican inspired plates from their latest rotating chef.
We ate. We drank. We lived. Thank you bar tartare for a night to remember š
