Excellent croissants
Their spelt sourdough is so amazing my wife threatened to divorce me and leave me for it
Pastries did not taste that fresh but weren't bad. I wish they reheated it. The coffee shop it's self had an interesting vibe with tons of different things to buy
The atmosphere is wonderful, and they offer delicious, fresh pastries and bread.
Part bakery, part market, part cafe, it offers a thoughtful selection of house made breads, pastries, and provisions that reflect a strong sense of place and craft.
The bread is the heart of the operation, naturally leavened, deeply crusted, and consistently excellent. Their croissants and canelés hold their own, and the rotating pastry case always has something that surprises. If you’re planning a meal at home, the pantry shelves are lined with curated staples, from cheeses to local preserves.
The space has a steady rhythm. Whether you’re grabbing a quick loaf, sitting down with coffee, or picking up something for later, there’s a sense that everything has been considered.
Seating is limited and fills up quickly, especially on weekends. If you’re hoping to stay for coffee and a pastry, it’s best to arrive earlier in the day or be prepared to take it to go.
If you’re nearby, or even if you’re not, it’s worth visiting.
Lovely French style bakery. Their pistache fraise tart is very good but their almond croissant is just okay (unfortunately I’ve had better elsewhere). A little bit pricey for what you’re getting but still a cute little place to for a date or something once in a while.
The plain croissant is great.
I want to give them a bad review so this gem of a perfect little bakery cafe isn’t overrun with annoying influencers. Everything they do is so well done from the decor to the bread and amazing pastries and even the little shop as you enter. Don’t come though. Seriously. I hate lines (order online instead!!)

I have visited this bakery cafe a few times. The quality of the foods is stable and promising. I ordered their Pate and tomato soup this afternoon. Pate with salad and pickle was nice. The tomato soup was satisfying. I should have ordered a full size one.
Their servers were welcoming and polite. The ambiance was cozy and you can slow down and enjoy a moment in life by the window.
Their breads are authentic and good to get some for breakfast.
Overall it has been a great experience in enjoying meals here!

It was quite busy on a Thursday morning at 10:30. We were lucky to snag a seat! The chocolate croissant and almond croissant were beyond flakey and delectable! The latte was creamy and perfect. A nice place for a treat but be prepared if you have to take it to go as it’s busy!

First time at this beautiful bakery. Enjoyed the Batard croissant, French onion soup and vanilla latte. All so delicious but the French Onion soup was the most joy! Went to meet friends on a mid-Saturday morning so huge lineup, took awhile to get our order but fortunate enough to get a table to seat 5.

I had the pleasure of visiting Batard Boulangerie today, and the experience transported me straight to a quaint French café—authentic even amidst Vancouver’s modern charm. Few places can deliver this kind of atmosphere, and Batard absolutely nails it.
I ordered an Americano, which was beautifully crafted with a thin, delicate crema that lingered on top which probably is coming from the oil of the freshly roasted coffee. The aroma was robust yet balanced, a true hallmark of expertly roasted beans. It was smooth, with no bitterness, making each sip incredibly enjoyable.
To complement the coffee, I tried the Apricot Vanilla Galette. Its crispy, buttery layers were perfectly baked, and the balance between the tangy apricot and subtle vanilla sweetness made it a treat worth savoring.
I also took home a Salmon Coulibiac, which was phenomenal. The sockeye salmon, paired with mushroom ragout and a hard-boiled egg, was all wrapped in a golden croissant dough—a dish both indulgent and satisfying. Every bite felt like a harmonious blend of textures and flavors.
I first got to know Batard because a friend gifted us a box of their pastries. While I initially found those selections too sweet for my palette, today I was delighted to discover a wide variety of offerings, catering to different tastes. The exterior of the boulangerie was so inviting, like stepping into Paris, and I’m thrilled I gave it another chance.
There’s so much more to explore here, and I’m already planning my next visit to try more of their unique creations since I pass through Fraser every time I’m on my way to work. Batard is a gem for anyone who appreciates fine pastry and excellent coffee!

Best croissants I’ve had outside Paris, and even then it could easily compete with any Parisian cafe. Super flaky, buttery and perfectly golden. Also LOVE the honeycomb pastry. High quality ingredients and lots of variety of other baked goods! Bit slow with making drinks but cool atmosphere to relax in while you wait
