This is place is unique spacious and affordable for Us ( students). The bakes are awesome. My fav chocolate chip coffee cookie yum 😋
And most drinks hot cold drinks are on point. I hope this place stays untill i am done at ubc and even after!
The stuff are super duper friendly and easy to talk.

Best cookies ever! Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Been going here on and off for years since 2018 and the quality has been consistently good. It's been $3 for a cookie for the longest time, though they raised it to $3.15 not too long ago, but still a good deal as long as they don't do a shrinkflation :)

Ordered a toasted bagel with onion cream cheese and a regular coffee. It was like $10. Well I swear there was 1/2 cup of cream cheese on this bagel! Why? I don't know, but hence the extra charge for it. Every bite it was squishy out and on me face and napkin, so messy. Couldn't finish it nor my coffee and couldn't take the coffee with me as you had to leave this used cup behind for recycling. It is at UBC students nest so there you go.

Have to use some kind of app for their gross plastic cups. Will never return

Coffee is ok, but not sure how it's allowed to pour a hot drink in a plastic cup? No way this is healthy. And then you need to download an app to claim your deposit? That's just... weird.
I understand you're trying to reduce waste, but you're doing more harm than good here

The new plastic coffee cups are toxic. Coffee is hot and acidic, so it leaches hormone-disrupting chemicals and microplastics/nanoplastics from the plastic cup into your drink. These chemicals have been linked to fertility problems, metabolism/thyroid problems, immune problems, and cancer. Recycling and repeated use/dishwashing makes the problem even worse by degrading the plastic over time.

Requiring an app in order to not get gouged for a deposit is infuriating. Nobody needs more apps on their phone. Will not return.

Blue Chip Cafe is such a cozy, inviting spot—and their Pumpkin Chai Latte? Absolutely incredible. It’s warm, creamy, perfectly spiced, and easily the best thing I’ve had in a while. The flavor is so balanced and comforting, like fall in a cup without being too sweet. You can tell they put real care into their drinks. I’ll definitely be back for more!

I ordered a bagel and brought it outside to eat and while my back was turned, a seagull managed to steal my bagel. I went inside to talk to the workers, who were incredibly sweet and understanding and honored my stolen bagel with a free cookie. Seriously the best spot on campus. Also love that they don’t up charge for alternative milk, have reasonable prices, and use reusable cups. Blue Chip and their staff is the best!

I was helped by Gabriel today. He was such a sweetheart, perfect start to thanksgiving Monday. He made sure my order came out just in time and exactly how I wanted. Hoping to be served by him every time I visit. Blue never disappoints in terms of food anyway but great service while having long queues is such a perfect hospitality experience.
