ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! We kicked off the first night of our family trip at this delicious restaurant. We ended up with extra people for our reserved time and Francis kindly and quickly moved us to a private room. The service, with both Jake and Francis, was next level, the food and wine were so delicious. I can’t recommend this place enough.
Fantastic atmosphere and lovely food and tapas. The Sangría was fabulous and the entire food superb. We also tried their brand beer 🍺 and also was not disappointing at all!
Can’t wait to be back…
Loved the food here! Can’t wait to go back!
Bodega on Main is NOT the old cheap and cheery La Bodega that we used to enjoy before Luv-a-Fair. You're next to Chinatown/ downtown Eastside so you may need to dodge a few sidewalk campers. You should make reservations, but beware the $20 per person non refundable reservation cancellation fee! First impressions, busy place, lots of patrons, nice rustic decor, very small waiting area - 4 of us just fit. Sacrifice a table for your patrons' comfort? After being seated, it was busy so we waited 10 minutes for a server to come say hello. Then we ordered a pitcher of white sangria and waited another 15 minutes. Almost a 1/2 hour to get first sips is a fail. Sangria was tasty but small with lots of ice and fruit so it went quickly and we ordered another. We ordered several tapas including olives, Gambas al Ajillo (sauteed garlic prawns - more like Camarones Al Ajillo), patata bravas (just like original Bodega - great sauce), Albondigas (3 meatballs), Calamari and Pan Con Tamate (garlic bread with tomatoes - a bit bland and soggy. Needs thicker bread, spice and faster delivery). We wanted more but tapas here are priced like entrees. $22 for a small plate of chicken (Pollo Riojana) and you 1/2 fill the plate with rewarmed potatoes? All food came warm but not hot so you need food runners because your servers are overwhelmed. Flavour is ok but spices are minimal and somewhat mild. Portions are a bit small for the prices. If you're hungry get the Paella. We saw one on the table next to us and it's a good portion for 2. The star of the meal was the creme brulé. Thick candied caramel on top of perfectly smooth and creamy custard. One of the best I've ever had. Bill came to $200 for 4, before tip. 2 of the people in our party said they were still hungry and were going to order a pizza when they got home. Not sure if I'd go back for dinner as there are other good options in this price range and I utterly loathe the $20 reservation cancellation penalty! I would definitely go back for just a coffee and the creme brulé.
We went to Spain three years ago where we tried the traditional Paella Negra. When we returned to BC we discovered this wonderful restaurant where we have visited more than five times and on each occasion we enjoyed a delicious Paella Negra as good as the one we ate in Spain. One suggestion is that the staff should be more agile when replenishing drinks on the table.
Great place!!! Really good cocktails and terrific for a big group of people (like my friend's birthday). Staff here was great and made it a very special night 💯
Hit and miss food. Most of the tapas were good, but we came for the paella! Very salty, soupy, no soccarat, and the rice was undercooked. The portion was good for 3, maybe 4, and contained quite a lot of clams, mussels, squid and shrimp. However, in the end, the saltiness made it inedible. Disappointed.
loved the ambiance but the paella was odd and tasted nothing like paella. the service was lacking as well. it was pretty hard to get the attention of the servers, most of whom were huddled together in a corner. asked for a side of aioli but never got it. i'll stick to casa molina.
Cute place. Enjoyed the happy hour menu options. The braised ribs, shrimp in garlic sauce & arugula salad were good. Patatas bravas weren’t as crispy as we thought they would be, should definitely be crispy especially when they're doused in the brava sauce. Churros were amazing with the vanilla mascarpone and chocolate. If you want a Tinto de verano, definitely let them know how it’s made. Overall good, would come back.
Excellent paella and service from
Omar and Maia. Went there 2 weeks straight. Great vibes

Perfect restaurant to find a cosy European place to gather
Great little place for tapas!
I’d visited at late evening and really crowded place where I’ve been in Vancouver city. Ordered small bites, salad dish and glasses of house wines were great to the first day of my travel, only one problem was too busy and many guests and noisy atmosphere.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and loved their tapas menu. The taste of the food wasn’t the best, but I still appreciated their tapas culture. The seafood paella we ordered was great; it was the only dish I truly enjoyed during our meal. Some people might disagree with me, but for me, it tasted better than what I had in Spain. Overall, I would give it a 4/5.
Always coming here for having a good experience similar to Spain. The only thing is that the octopus portion was a little bit tiny but everything is delicious here.
