So this review is for their dine out festival special event tasting menu. Dishes in order of served. 1. Scallops: 3/10 because there was a fishy taste to me and my partners dish. The dish involving a crudo does not mean anything. Otherwise would have been a 7/10. 2. Sunchokes: 6.5/10 it was decent. Nothing spectacular. 3. BBQ Lobster: 9/10. Amazing taste, great spices and well presented. 4. Foie Gras: 1/10. Neither of us finished. Foie gras was decent but there was a jelly base that made the dish inedible. 5. Red Sea Bream: 7/10. It is a 7/10 because everything else on the dish had little to no taste. If you are using pasilla chili and mole's, there should at least be some kick to it. The potato was good but felt out of place because of the lack in dish cohesiveness. 6. Mountain view Elk: 10/10. Star of the night. Everything executed perfectly, and all pairs together well. Normally I dislike a wine jus but this time, it was quite good. 7. Brown butter cake: 7.5/10. It was good, but again, some elements were out of place. It slowly grew on us as we continued, but not enough to make it higher. Service: 10/10!! It was my girlfriend's birthday and they put a candle on her cake, and gave us celebratory champagne. Which was surprising, but welcomed. Restaurant: No rating, but I have to ask; why charge an auto gratuity on a party of 2 on a bill for just 2 cocktails, after the dinner itself was prepaid weeks in advance? Disappointing.
To the staff at the Botanist - Thank you for surprising my mom with the dessert treat with candle for her birthday lunch. My mom shared that everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. Being able to enjoy a meal at the Botanist while staying at the Fairmont Pac Rim for her birthday was exactly what she had wished for in memory of her late daughter, my sister. Thank you for creating a thoughtful and kind memorable experience on my mother's first birthday celebrated without her first born. My mom and I will continue to keep our traditions and memories alive at the Pac Rim and Botanist as the food and service never fail. ❤️
We went for the set brunch which was nice. Most dishes were good. The plating of the eggs with a whole tomato in the middle was a bit of a disappointment as was the spaghetti. The granola parfait was okay - lacked honey and could have been made at home. Service was great. Overall. It was quite good.
One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Botanist absolutely nailed everything — the food, the service, the atmosphere, all flawless. Every dish was thoughtful, beautifully executed, and genuinely memorable. The service was warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed without ever feeling intrusive. I will be thinking about that meal for a very long time. Cannot recommend it enough.
Botanist brunch never disappoints. Portions are generous even though its not the cheapest place its amazingly presented with great service and you really feel welcomed and comfortable. Will keep coming back as its a phenomenal experience.
Had an amazing culinary experience. Food was amazing as usual. New wines available were excellent. Unfortunately there was a delay in our cocktails arriving so the came after our appetizers which was odd but our server made up for it with an additional mid meal dish courtesy of the chef. The restaurant was lovely in accommodating our request to move tables as there was unfortunately a street light outside the restaurant that was shorting out and flashing incessantly. But overall another exceptional experience at Botanist.
My family would have loved more non-alcoholic beverage options, such as smoothies for the teenagers and more advertised tea options (we had to ask) for the grandparents. Our lamb happened to be chewy, though the server addressed our concerns promptly. Overall, we enjoyed the brunch and plan to be back again.
The food was unanimously outstanding. Even without meeting the chef, it was clear that each dish was crafted with artistic care, perfectly reinforcing the restaurant's theme. Service, however, fell short of expectations this caliber of restaurant. While we were warmly greeted, seated with care, and given clear explanations of each dish, attentiveness during the meal was inconsistent. Over the two-hour dining experience, water glasses were at times left empty for 15-20 minutes, and there were no check-ins regarding how the dishes were tasting. The cuisine itself was exceptional, but more attentive service would have elevated the overall experience.
We had the most incredible tasting menu experience at The Botanist to celebrate our 1-year wedding anniversary, and it truly exceeded every expectation. The food was absolutely exceptional — beautifully presented, thoughtfully composed, and genuinely memorable from start to finish. Every course felt special. What truly made the evening unforgettable, though, was the service. Our server Andre was outstanding: warm, attentive, and perfectly paced the entire experience. The sommelier (whose name we sadly didn't catch) curated a wine pairing that elevated each dish flawlessly, and Roland, our bartender, crafted incredible cocktails and provided such engaging, thoughtful conversation that made the evening even more enjoyable and personal. The restaurant itself is stunning — elegant, intimate, and the perfect setting for a special occasion. We felt genuinely cared for, and the team made our anniversary feel truly meaningful. We can't wait to return. Thank you for such a magical evening.
We loved the fact that all dishes were very flavorful and had distinct flavors. Beef dishes were not chewy, ie, which is a big thing for us when we eat steak or tartare, we loved it!

The service was great and the food was very tasty. They were super kid friendly which was amazing for an upscale restaurant. Our out of town guests were impressed. Loved the ambience also. Thank you for a lovely dining experience. We'll be back.
