Ate an early dinner at the Brass Fish Tavern on a weeknight. We had draft beer, sablefish, seafood paella, and fish and chips. The beer and food were both very good. We were at the restaurant during happy hour and it was busy with office workers and conventioneers drinking at the end of their day. The design of the room creates a very high noise level that our waitress said was always a problem. Don't come here for a quiet, romantic dinner. Overall, recommended for a good variety of beer, wine, hard liquor, and decent food.
It was too loud and noisy. We had to shout at each other during the meal and also had someone older with us and we could not hear him nor him hear us. The noise was voices, and they had loud music on too which was unnecessary as I am sure that everyone was talking over the music I will not go here again for this reason
Great place to eat in Vancouver center. Reasonable prices, comfortable seating, friendly and efficient staff and delicious food. We dined there twice within 3 days.
The food is always spectacular here. We were here for a large business lunch and our server, while bubbly and friendly, kept interjecting into our conversation with her opinions and experiences, and it was just a little much.
Went for breakfast with the Chelsea Vancouver Fan Club. Was nice to be able to watch the game. Had the full English breakfasts the eggs were terrible and the price for what it was outrageous. I've been there for a pint before and it was okay but I'll never go for breakfast again.
- We came to watch the Champions League football, which wasn't available. Apparently the previous day they had the same problem yet hadn't fixed it. - Lunch for 2 + 2 beers came to over $100. A little rich for a place that has as the wifi password "proper pub"
Friendly service, nice decor/atmosphere, and good food and drinks. I like their whale skeleton hanging from the ceiling. This tavern is located in the famous marine building.

Wow the appetizers are amazing
The food is basic bar food at best. I enjoyed my burger but the fried calamari was inedible and the fish and chips were horrible. My Other friends had the salmon and sable fish which were pretty good
The fish in the paella was overcooked, especially the two small scallops and the salmon, husband gave it a 2. Cocktails very small for the price. French dip sandwich was flavorful, but also overcooked. Server was not very personable, just seemed to be super low key. Probably wouldn't eat here again.

I was with a group having a retirement party upstairs on July 29th. The service and food were great, thanks. Special mention to the server I had...Rachel.

Very disappointing first experience at Brass.
The food was decent, but the service left a lot to be desired. While my friend was in the washroom, the server brought over the bill without asking if we were ready for it, or whether we wanted to pay together or separately. I told her I’d be paying in cash — I was planning to cover it anyway, so the single bill wasn’t an issue — but she came back with the card machine instead. I repeated that I’d be paying cash, and as my friend returned, we resumed our conversation. The server came over yet again, and at that point, I was visibly annoyed by the lack of attentiveness and basic courtesy. And btw I have to mention that the place was half empty.

Excellent customer service (Hannah) and the bowls were quite good. The only thing I would change would be that the music was a bit loud.

Waitress was friendly and ambience is quite nice. My short rib dip did fall short of my expectations. It was very dry and tough unlike other beef dips I had at other restaurants.
