Great food and service. An excellent alternative to avoid the standard restaurant chains in Vancouver.

We went to Brix & Mortar to try their three-set menu for $45. The green salad was simple and yet refreshing, with pickled carrot and a mild sorghum vinaigrette dressing. The Klipper’s Organic Squash Soup was also well-balanced with its rich, creamy coconut taste.
For the main course, we had the Wild Sockeye Salmon, which was well-cooked and flavorful. Although the portion was post-COVID-sized, the red prawn and green pea Carolina Gold rice tasted quite fishy and needed something to contrast the rich creaminess of the seafood rice. The Yarrow Meadows Duck Breast was also good, although it could have had a better cut, as some parts were chewy and gristly. The Jamaican jerk spices, paired with the kohlrabi remoulade, roasted yams, and spiced peach compote, worked well together, although I found the dish a bit too sweet for my taste.
Their Pumpkin Pie Panna Cotta was a nice dessert to finish off the three-course meal. The dessert was rich, and the graham crumble, cinnamon caramel, and cream complemented it nicely. We ordered two, but one is more than enough. If you must, the sorbet is a recommended alternative.
Their Spanish red wine on the happy hour menu, Pata Negra Tempranillo Toro, complemented the meal nicely, though it was poured into my glass as if it were tap water. The waiter, though friendly, assumed we were ESL speakers and spoke slowly and loudly, as if we were deaf or struggling to understand. She "could not find the pepper," and we only received fresh pepper after finishing the appetizer. Condiments were not offered throughout the meal, which was disappointing.
While the food showcased creativity and strong flavors, the overall experience was dampened by inconsistent service and minor execution issues. Brix & Mortar has potential, but some refinements could significantly enhance the dining experience.

One of, if not the best, places we ate in Vancouver. Even something as simple as thejyr grilled sourdough was great. The drinks were great, and we ordered the special (a pasta) and the duck - both were incredible. The duck was up there with some of the best I've had. Service was spot on and ambiance was great. Will definitely come back.

This is a beautiful place. However, the loud Christmas music drove me out. Really? Just play music.

Service was awful our server kept us unattended and we got patio seat for our important event that we made reservations while ago. Definitely not what I expected, very disappointed since we were exited for the view and interior but there was nothing to see.
Food took so long to come out, was not at its best quality

Came here for a company holiday party. Servers were efficient and friendly. The steak was very tender and delicious. The foccacia and appetizers were delightful. The lemon tart was a tad too sour though.
