One of the best place to enjoy a vegan meal. Been coming to this place from last 10 years. The taste and flavours been same from day one until now. Been placing the same order and it tastes just as good as the first day I tried it. Never been disappointed, always leave happy, full and content! Love this place

How have I not reviewed Budgies yet?! All vegetarian, with vegan options, excellent burritos & tacos that are super good! It’s been around for 25 yrs (as of 2025) so you know it’s good. You can easily get 2 meals out of each burrito (festival food hack!) Budgies is women-founded & owned, has punk-rock roots, and always employs folks that are part of the un-conventional / alternative / artistic community. The decor is funky & artistic. Upstairs has a few spots to sit, but venture downstairs to find a more spacious, cozy seating area with tables & booths; it feels like you’re in a secret spot! This place is as real as it gets!

Gem of the city, for real! All of this was spectacular, the service was so amazing, the people behind the counter were so nice and made me feel very welcome.
The food was so good, I tried their quesadilla which was 12.95 and it was so filling and delicious with complimentary guac on the side.
Also, the art and the overall vibe of the place was amazing. I loved it. They were playing some sort of low-fi, jazz music. I Even bought a tote-bag with one of their designs.
You guys have to check this place out!

SO DELICIOUS! I had a burrito and the soup, it was reasonably priced and granted maybe too much food for me for one meal ? but absolutely going back the next time I’m in the city

I have to admit upon going in I didn’t expect a whole lot but I had a good experience. Washrooms were pretty clean, they were friendly and the decor was urban stylish. I’m not a vegetarian so I ordered the Poser which tasted good and there was a lot of garlic in it which I enjoyed. They played neat 80’s rap music while I was there which wasn’t too loud and enjoyable. I’ll be going back.
A Vancouver staple and absolute gem!! Might be their #1 fan lol! Please don’t ever change or leave! I would actually cry if they ever closed. That’s how good these burritos are. Budgies has fed us hundreds of times and has never missed!! Best burritos I’ve ever eaten, amazing bowls, amazing sauces, amazing everything! If you’re a vegetarian this place is perfection!

I've been to this place twice now. The first time I went I ordered a Jamedog burrito, and I liked it so much that I went for a plate of nachos. I definitely ate too much, but I didn't regret it. Today I tried the Henry burrito, and it was great too but I think I still like the Jamedog just a little bit more. This place has a happy hour, stamp cards for regular customers, a kids' menu and I can only love a restaurant that has a comprehensive compost/recycling system like Budgie's. The music was a little harsh on my first visit so 4 stars for that reason. Otherwise, this is a great place to grab a quick lunch. I can't be sure, but I think they are also licensed.

Really good and really affordable. If you're a van local you've driven by this spot a thousand times. It's here waiting for you to try it! Lots of choices and the bowls pack a bunch of flavor. A great spot for almost any dietary restriction or choice.
