My go-to coffee stop whenever I'm in the northern Commercial Drive area.
The coffee is great, the staff are friendly, and the cafe's nostalgic, cozy feel is an absolute delight.
If you're looking to break away from the mainstream and support a local cafe that, itself, supports the local community, stop in at Bump N Grind.

I have a love/hate relationship with this cafe. I love the cafe. It's very eclectic. Art, literature, textiles, lots of great things. The location itself is nice. My issue is with the baristas. The two baristas that I have met were both a little too snobby and pretentious. Not very friendly. Saturday December 6th, 3pm. I was sternly told that I was standing in the wrong spot to order. Apparently I was 2 foot too far to the right of the counter. He then rolled his eyes when I stated that I was the only person in line. There was nobody else behind me. No line up. What did he mean, I'm standing in the wrong spot?. Why roll his eyes?. You pour coffee. Humble yourself!! I wasn't feeling his vibe so I left without making a purchase and went to Turks instead. Turks have very nice baristas!. The other barista from Bump N Grind that I met looked at me like I was interrupting his phone time when I tried to order. This would be my favorite cafe if they were to hire better, friendlier baristas. I'd give the cafe 4 stars but my rating reflects my experience with the baristas.
