For lack of a score below one, this deserves it. I almost never write bad reviews, but this feels necessary. This is easily the worst club or lounge I’ve ever been to. If you care about your safety or simply want to enjoy a night out, look elsewhere.
I visited Vancouver over the weekend with a group of my girlfriends, and Cabana came recommended by TikTok. The night started off uncomfortable. People kept getting too close, pushing us, and crowding our space. I don’t blame Cabana for individual guests behaving badly, but things escalated quickly and dangerously.
A drunk woman approached us threatening to fight. We told her we weren’t interested and tried to ignore her, but she kept coming back. While we were dealing with that, a man walked up and pushed one of my friends, she in response moved herself back into place. Even if he needed to pass by, instead of simply saying excuse me, he chose to shove us.
What happened next left us shaken. That same man went to call over five large security guards. They immediately surrounded us and told us to leave. At this point we were scared. These men were towering over us, pushing us to leave, and refusing to listen. We tried explaining that we were the ones being harassed and asked them to escort the man out instead. We were told they couldn’t because he was a VIP regular.
For a place that claims everyone can party like a VIP, that was alarming.
I took out my phone to record what was happening, but guards kept pushing my hand down and stopping the video. One grabbed my hand and I had to tell him not to put his hands on me or I would be forced to make a police report before he let me go. Eventually the same man who shoved us snatched my phone and walked off. I told security, and they did nothing. I tried to follow him but ended up losing him and having a panic attack.
Throughout all of this, guards kept putting their hands on us. One friend’s shirt was pulled down, another’s wig was pulled off. We were pushed and dragged outside. Even when I dropped to the floor during a panic attack, none of the guards reacted or offered help. Thanks to the individuals at the lounge that offered help.
The only person who showed any level of sense or decency was Dalton, a security guard who eventually returned my phone.
This whole experience has left a bitter memory for all of us. I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially women. When I got home I asked around about Cabana and searched them up on google, and the responses I got were overwhelmingly negative. Stories of women being harassed while security does nothing seem to be a pattern. It makes sense why this lounge sits at three stars, though in my opinion it deserves less.
I’m extremely disappointed in how everything unfolded, and I truly hope they take serious steps to improve Cabana’s safety and staff conduct although we would never be back or ever recommend.

Dave Kershaw wants Granville SROs to shut down. He would rather see people unhoused than lose a profit. Because profit over people is the Vancouver way. Disgraceful. Think about the businesses you support

One of the last true nightclubs in Vancouver. Always busy, still affordable, and trying to give the city something fun. Love it!

Huge shout to the GM kyle Muir for putting in the effort to get my jew ass a refund from the vape machine and even grabbing a replacement vape on his own time. Absolute legend.

The DJ kept repeating the same 10 songs and didn’t know how to make transitions, which was very boring. I mentioned this to the staff and they responded in a rude way.
Out on a warm Friday summer night and almost all the clubs have a long queue but surprisingly not Cabana. It was pretty full inside but people were filtering in and out. They charged us a $25 entry, which seemed a bit excessive. They had a $4 drink night, which was a relief. The bartenders were super nice. Didn’t see a coatcheck. The DJ played hit classics with a hint of the new songs. The club closed at 3am.

I would say Saturday was kinda fun; I spent time at the Cabana. The music could have been one notch higher, as it was only Afrobeat and fewer of the most popular English songs. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the music rhythm, ambient lighting and party vibes.

I’ve been to Cabanas a few times and always had a good experience! DJs always had great music! Bartenders were fast and respectful. Dance floor was definitely a little overcrowded, but otherwise was super fun!
It was my sisters birthday celebration night and I asked the DJ to play “white girl” music. He definitely delivered!
My sister and I had a run in with a few people that dampened our night, but the staff did all they could to handle the situation and make any amends. Positive and respectful attitudes all around! Will definitely see us again!
