Poor coffee quality and over priced for what you receive. Closes too early for on call hospital staff overnight. Sad that VGH doesn't have better cafe and one that remains open overnight.

Edit: From what I could see the next day I didn't notice gluten free options still so they must go fast. I can say that my family enjoyed the baked goods though, so those are just fine if you don't have gluten issues. When a coffee is made that poorly it tends to be a lack of experience or understanding around brewing espresso. It really was bad enough where I wasn't encouraged to try again and busy enough that I didn't feel up to taking them away from the rush to try and sort it out. I hope it can be worked on is all.

Had a breakfast croissant that was really nice warmed up, but the iced latte I had was one of the worst coffees I have had in a long time.

Super bitter, over extracted sort of taste. Lots of grinds in the bottom in a brown sludge, like perhaps it wasn’t well tamped so got pushed through. There’s a gritty texture on my tongue. Wow it’s just an experience to say the least, like a “you don’t realize how spoiled your are for coffee in this city til you have something like this” experience.

Nothing gluten free that I could see if you had those dietary concerns. It’s something I try to opt for if I can to avoid some health issues.

I always go here when I am in the neighbourhood. They have great sandwiches and baked goods, decent lattes plus good janitorial practices and comfortable seating.

Who the hell puts salsa sauce in a roast beef and cheese ciabatta sandwich!?!? Without calling it a roast beef and salsa sandwich...WTH? And oh yeah it's about the size of a McDouble with 1/2 the meat for 3 times the price!

Shame on you for taking advantage of people desperate for food in a hospital setting!

The food is pretty decent but the prices, I understand have to reflect the growing cost of inflation, are abit high...like every other hospital coffee shop in BC.

Ordered a matcha latte but the taste is very blend and not worth the price imo. so I asked for an extra pump of vanilla syrup and they are asking to charge me ONE DOLLAR ($0.95)for that. My drink is $5 and a $1 to get syrup is VERY expensive and unacceptable.

This is the restaurant in Vancouver General Hospital and it would be churlish to be critical. Small selection of food, very spacious and comfortable surroundings including couches. Good cappuccino. Better than most hospital cafeterias.

I’m so glad they renovated the place and expanded the menu—it’s like a cozy little upgrade! There are plenty of seats, and I love that they’re nicely spaced out. Ever since they reopened, I haven’t stepped foot in Starbucks—Cafe Ami has completely stolen my heart! Their sandwiches and lattes are absolutely delicious.

And seeing Maddy when I order? It’s the cherry on top! She always brightens my morning and makes the start of my day feel extra special. She’s truly a gem—Cafe Ami is lucky to have her!

Decent place and variety of food items. Staff was quick and attentive. There's a good amount of seating from tables and chairs to booths and even couches. Interior design has great detail. Very nicely designed. I'm happy to have a place to go to instead of going back down the hill and over a few blocks to grab something. It's open early. It was the perfect spot as I waited for my appointment time.
