The Atlantic salmon was cooked to,perfection I am fussy as so many restaurants overcook food. The French fries the best. And it was quite quiet which made conversation easy. It had been a go to for years. Went downhill but now is on the up,again.
The dishes that we ordered were very good ingredient-wise, but they lacked the expert food preparation that we expected. For example, the medley of vegetables that came with my fish was excellent, but each vegetable type was either over cooked or under cooked. The calamari coating was so salty that it was almost inedible. The service was excellent, and we were made to feel like valued guests.
An amazing first time experience. Staff were prompt, attentive and genuinely friendly. Food was delicious and fresh. Would come back for sure. Thank you for such a warm and welcoming experience.
One of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver for French cuisine. The lamb and mussels are excellent!
I like the patio setting. It is comfortable. The food and service are very good as well. Greatly recommended.
Came here before with some friends and family and was excellent.. had family in town and decided to book a table on Aug 13 only to find out it was closed through their website the same day of my booking. Was never informed no email.. no call.. no voicemail.. extremely unimpressed by the lack of communication of the closure..
I'm a frog legs expert! Wherever I see frog leg on the menu, I must order it. Everytime I go to Paris, I will visit the frog legs specialty restaurant with a long history.... after going to café salade de fruits trying their frog legs, I don't have to go Paris. I ordered this delicacy as my main course and it came out only 3 big frog legs, just after one bite, I immediately ordered a second plate. It is heavenly! The skin is very crispy and light, not overly oily, the meat texture is juicy and tender, the taste is succulent. I will come back soon again just for this dish. For my appetizer, I had escargot which is good but not spectacular. My hubby had the 3 course set dinner with terrine which is big portion and terrine is not bad, chicken cordon bleu which is alright. Dessert is a pudding. The wine choice is good too. Overall we had a good time sitting at the patio under perfect Vancouver's summer weather and I will come back just for two plates of frog legs plus a glass of white haha.
A very nice, cosy, friendly, little piece of France in Vancouver, with a great terrasse! Magnifique! (picture taken at 11am, before the lunch crowd shows up!)

Delightful dinner as always we love coming here. Wonderful staff and owner. We will always come back and the Keylime pie is a winner! If your in the mood for an interesting french delight Id say treat yourself.
Salade de Fruits is a Vancouver gem that never disappoints. With years of visits under my belt, I can attest to the restaurant's consistent excellence in both food and service. Classic French dishes are expertly prepared, and the staff's warm hospitality makes every meal a pleasure. A lovely spot for any occasion.

PLEASE DO NOT ORDER THE CROQUE MADAME OR CROQUE MONSIEUR FOR BRUNCH SERVICE!!
I've had this dish a thousand times at other French restaurants in Vancouver and other cities, and the one at Salad de Fruits is a joke. Superstore bread (dry, not even grilled or barely pan-seared), no sauce, microscopic amounts of cheese. Low quality ingredients and no seasoning. Honestly, my 8-year-old could have done a similar sandwich a thousand times better himself. This was a mediocre meal over $25, so the food was HUGELY disappointing!
Aditionally, the waiters, a young gentleman with a strong French accent and a young lady, didn't come to ask how the food was at all, which bugged me because I was seriously considering sending the dish back to the kitchen. At the end of the meal, when we asked for the check, the gentleman obviously noticed I'd barely touched the sandwich and still didn't ask if everything was OK, even when I turned down the to-go box.
Would not recommend for brunch.

Authentic Flavors, Chill Vibe
Found this place randomly and wow, it’s legit. French onion soup was rich, the baguette fresh, and the seafood pasta was next-level. Loved that it wasn’t pretentious at all — just solid food in a cool, artsy space. Definitely feels like a secret locals want to keep to themselves.

Pre-show Dinner @cafesaladedefruits . I used to come here all the time for lunch. Under new management as of 2 years ago after the original owner retired.
