Loved this place! On my first visit, I tried a sandwich and a blueberry smoothie and was instantly hooked. I came back just for the smoothie because they’re super generous with the blueberries, and they even offer nut milk at no extra charge — all for only $5.50! This time I also tried the mango smoothie and it was amazing too. It tasted like real mango. The sandwich was delicious, and the staff are incredibly friendly and kind.

The food was so so good and the staff was incredibly kind. The cafe was a bit obscure, it's located in the music school but even if you're not a part of the school this cafe is definitely worth checking out. Not to mention how cheap it is!
I visited Café Tica for breakfast and was delighted by the experience. The menu is clearly displayed beside the counter, making ordering straightforward and easy to navigate.
I ordered a salmon breakfast sandwich, Italian Wedding Soup, and a lemon-ginger tea. The soup was the standout — juicy mini meatballs, a beautifully balanced broth with fresh greens, and that comforting, homemade flavor that feels like something grandma would make. The sandwich was also a win: toasted bread, a good portion of salmon, plenty of cream cheese, and a well-cooked egg that wasn’t dry. Everything came together perfectly.
The tea complemented the meal nicely, though I would love to see some loose-leaf or house-blend teas in the future — it would suit their wholesome, homemade food style perfectly. The staff member at the counter was kind and welcoming, which added to the cozy atmosphere.
The café itself has a warm, inviting feel with wood accents, cheerful seasonal decorations, and plenty of natural light. It’s comfortable and peaceful — a great spot to enjoy a calm morning meal.
I’ll definitely return. Next time, I might try one of their pastries or another soup. Café Tica is a little hidden gem worth discovering.

I popped in today for the first time, looking for a great breakfast place and after reading the rave reviews. I was also hoping to meet the super nice (according to the reviews) owner who leaves the little emoji with a cowboy hat on his replies, but he wasn't there haha. (Love that emoji by the way! :D)
The lady who served me was kind, and I got the breakfast salmon sandwich, a cookie, and a cappuccino.
Everything was delicious and very affordable! The coffee was very good. I'd say the best one I've had in Vancouver for now! :) I will def come back for lunch!

Really the only thing on their menu for breakfast was sandwiches.
