Good! The squash dish is a MUST HAVE!! 11/10z
Pasta was 8/10.
Staff seemed pretty rushed and pasta took a while but the food itself was good and pasta is made fresh.

Really enjoyed the food here. Seating was a bit tight as its not a big place but the food more then made up for it.

La Tana is always excellent. One pet peeve - they don't have a velvet curtain at the front door (like the one to the back kitchen) to stop the drafts, so on a cold night, you get a freezing breeze every time someone comes in. Apart from that, this is a total gem!
We had a wonderful Valentine's Dinner and the service here is consistently exceptional. Adam always goes above-and-beyond to provide us an amazing evening and the food is some of the best in the city. We especially love the Ricotta Crostini's and the Spicy Vodka Pasta is a must. Look forward to dining here again soon!

Funky, fun Italian. Savior Volpe chef took over the kitchen. Menu was limited, but creative and genuine Italian. The room was buzzing with energy. The wine service was authentic and we'll thought out without the pretense you get in a lot of places, but not here. And the service was on spot. What more could you ask for from a neighbourhood restaurant.

We are big fans of Savio and Elio Volpe so we're excited to try Caffè La Tana. It's a much smaller and more intimate vibe. It has a cozy but elevated feel. All of the staff from management to runners were charming attentive and informed. Every single dish was a 10. A new favourite!
Great little spot with a very nice atmosphere ! Food was tasty and service was great ! Dunno if I’ll come again as the menu was small, perhaps it changes all the time. Also if the menu is so small why have Cesar salad, it’s not very Italian, arugula or other alternatives would match the place better ! Besides my menu pickiness, a lovely spot that is worth the visit !

Volpe restaurants never disappont. Our server was lovely and atmosphere was fun. We sat at the pasta bar and loved watching the busy scene. Food and cocktails were outstanding. We will be back.

Lovely place, lovely space, great service ! Great location. We had burrata for 2, and pasta. Both were tasty.
I was in TWICE for their Dine Out Vancouver offering! Such a great value, though La Tana is one of my favourite restaurants regardless. Everything about the place is elevated and consistent; the food, service and vibe! 10/10, I always recommend!
Cozy dining experience with delicious food.
I’ve tried all 3 other sister restaurants (Savio Volpe, Pepino’s, and Elio Volpe), and this was on par! I’d say Savio is still my favourite out of the 4, but Caffe La Tana didn’t disappoint.
Loved their plate of warm assorted olives for $6. Pine Mushroom arancini ($20) was deep fried perfectly with a crunch, but the mushroom flavour was too light. Dip was good, but very generic, like a lightly flavoured mayo/aioli.
Deep fried scallop and prawn In Carozza ($19) was flavourful and so juicy, while the outer shell was light and crispy. Lastly, the pasta was amazing, sort of like a gnocchi with braised beef (or was it pork)? Anyways, the meat was very tender and the sauce works perfectly. Lovely pasta dish that I’d order again and would recommend! The table next to us told us we had to order it, and I’m glad we listened. Small menu, there’s 1 pasta permanently on the menu, and I believe the other 2 are rotational.
Also got 2 alcoholic drinks. Bill total for two people was about $120 without tax and top.
Staff were friendly. It’s a small dimly lit and casual restaurant, with tightly packed tables that you’ll need to squeeze by to get into your seat. Great for date night, and I highly recommend a reservation as the restaurant is quite small. It’s physically attached to Pepino, which is also worth checking out! (Especially their pizza).

Went today to celebrate my fiancee’s birthday. I made a reservation for 2 at 2pm, and once we entered, we were not greeted, and we stood there for 5 minutes. Servers just walked right by us.
Then someone came to direct us, but when we told her that I had a reservation, we were told to wait for another 5 minutes or so. So far, understandable. I get that this place is busy.
However, we were told that since the place is busy, they could only offer us bar seats, even though there was a table available. Later, another group of two comes in, and they are seated at the table.
At this point, what’s the point of making a reservation? Why were we treated differently? We made the reservation precisely because we expected the restaurant to have a table READY for us to begin with. Am I wrong to expect this level of service? That didn’t seem fair to us at all. Funny how being busy justifies overlooking customers.
As if that weren’t enough, we were only given empty cups, and nobody offered us water or any other kinds of drinks for next 7-8 minutes or so. Absolutely no one asked us how we were doing, and what we wanted.
We just walked right out. This place isn’t worth our time, and let’s just say that the whole experience was a big joke.

I had a great experience here once with excellent service, but the last two times I’ve felt out of place and unwelcome. Tried to see if we could get in a month or so ago, and stood around awkwardly for a few minutes without anyone acknowledging us, so we just left. Last night, with a reservation, was the same vibe. Stood around awkwardly for a few minutes. We were seated in the back corner which was cramped and awkward. Overall a decent experience with tasty food, but the vibe doesn’t suit me so I won’t be rushing back.
