Cake it Easy is a family run East Vancouver gem. This simple store front is home to some truly marvelous deserts! The flavors are sophisticated and balanced, the textures sublime, and the cakes are visually captivating. Cake it Easy has the best Chocolate mousse cake in town. The Ube cake is unique with a subtle sweetness, a chiffon topping and exquisite flan layer. Marvelous! I bought an 8” flan as a desert for a 14 person dinner party. The Flan was a perfect end to a beautiful dinner. It was devoured by my guest. So good!
Came here for the viral ube cakes and they did not disappoint! We got 3 cakes and liked all of them, the ube tasted natural and the cake was flavourful yet not overly sweet. Would definitely recommend to all the ube lovers!

You got to be kidding. A slice of the ube rival cake cost over $10 and it's just enough for one person. At this price, I should be hyper-critical. The frosting layer seems to be butter cream. Generally as well done as it could be, however, it does not bond to the cake nor does it add any flavour other than sweetness so this is just really a throw-away item. The cake itself was ok, I appreciate that it was not too sweet, but that's where it ends. The texture was just ok, plenty of other cake shops do as well. The overwhelming taste was just ... well, sweet. That's it. We've had real ube plenty of times before, we know what ube tastes like and it was barely here. We've had sweet potato cakes that tasted like sweet potato. This is not one of those either. Given the size & quality, I'd hesitate to even pay half-price ($5) for a piece of this cake. You can get better stuff elsewhere for less. Even if you wanted ube cake ... well it doesn't really taste like ube, does it? And if you wanted anything else, it's not like there's much choice. It seems like you got maybe 2 other flavours and that's it. Naw, don't waste your hard earned dollars. Would not come back.

We had the ube flan and the leche flan part in the middle was amazing. My first time having that and I would buy a whole cake made of leche flan with some whipped cream rosettes on top hint, hint..

I wanted to love the ube cake but I'm not sure if they use real ube and flavoring or just colour dye. It didn't taste or smell like ube and there was a chunk in the cake where it was white/yellow so it was evident that the colour hadn't been mixed in that area before baking.
Had been waiting to try the Leche Flan, picked one up today for a birthday surprise and it did not disappoint!!! Can't wait to return for another, the best one we've had!

Finally got a chance to try this bakery today after seeing pictures of the Ube cakes on IG. I was greeted by the owner who was super kind, she thanked me for waiting as it seemed as though she was running the bakery on her own in the afternoon.I ordered 2 sans rival and ube flan cakes. My family enjoyed them. They were delicious. The cakes were super soft and moist, with the right amount of sweetness. Will definitely come back again to pre-order cakes for holiday and birthday celebrations.
