We came in with high expectations, given their connection to Ask for Luigi.

We were seated almost immediately thanks to our reservation. However, our table was located right next to the coat rack, which was a bit inconvenient since people kept coming by to grab their coats.

The menu isn’t extensive, but the food was excellent. The meatballs and the bread with cultured butter stood out the most. Honestly think we could've skipped the pasta.

All in all, we’ll definitely be back, but there’s no rush.

Cantina, Ask for Luigi’s younger sister, was a standout. I wanted to do a special birthday dinner for two of my college friends whom I haven’t had all together in one place for years during their birthdays. Ren helped me craft a fantastic set menu within my budget and was so responsive prior to the event.

On the day of, both Katarina and Ren were so accommodating and made sure we were taken of despite us arriving late from a bad traffic jam and our hard stop at around 8.

Now on to the food… it was spectacular. The focaccia was amazing and made fresh in-house, nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. I normally have just half a piece of bread to save room for pasta. I had three. The marinated olives were served warm and they were delightfully salty. I used the oil they came in to dip the focaccia in. I am not a big radicchio fan but I enjoyed the salad, and the burrata was lush!

The pastas: 1. I normally don’t like gnocchi but theirs was so light and fluffy and just perfect! 2. The risotto was perfectly al dente and had simple but beautiful flavors. The taste of the truffle and parmigiano was pure umami bliss. 3. Caccio e Pepe… honestly? I preferred their Caccio e Pepe over any Caccio e Pepe I’ve ever had, even the ones I’ve had in Rome.

The gelatos were great, I had the tiramisu one.

All in all, it was a very memorable event and everyone can’t stop raving about the food.

Thank you so much Ren, Katarina, and the chefs and cooks. I can’t believe you were feeding the entire restaurant from 4 burners. I can’t wait to come back and try your version of tiramisu! Thanks again for taking care of us and making sure the evening was spectacular.

Dorian is lovely and nice, he introduces us the latest fall menu and it was really delicious after trying his recommendation!
You should order olive and dip the bread in the oil underneath.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Vancouver! 🇮🇹 The authentic ingredients and beautifully crafted traditional dishes from different regions of Italy make you crave more with every bite. The atmosphere is intimate and elegant, and the service is of the highest standard — professional, attentive, and full of genuine care. The staff are very knowledgeable about the food and always willing to go the extra mile to make your experience unforgettable.

Dorian made my little stop by for a drink such a lovely experience. My one glass of wine turned into 2 and I had olives that are on the fall menu. Atmosphere and aesthetic is simple and chic. Would definitely recommend this place. Will be back!

I went in with high expectations since it’s the sister restaurant of Ask for Luigi. The interior felt stylish yet cozy, with a relaxed, grown-up vibe and music that was calm enough to enjoy the atmosphere.

Service was attentive and thoughtful — honestly, really pleasant from start to finish.

For food, I started with the meatballs, which were so good they completely outshone the main. The pasta came loaded with rosemary — more than I’d expected — and it ended up overpowering the other flavors, so it didn’t quite work for me. It felt like I was revved up by the appetizer, only to lose momentum with the main.

The menu isn’t very extensive, so I’m not sure I’d rush back. That said, I’d happily return just to order a spread of appetizers and skip the pasta altogether.

OUTSTANDING!!! The venison pappardelle pasta is not only the best I've ever had outside of Italy, but might beat fresh pastas in Italy. thats how god damn good it was!!! Staff and the rest of the food was fantastic.

Hannah, our server made our anniversary. She was very particular to detail and I felt like I was going to her house the way she treated us for everything.

The restaurant had good atmosphere but the appetizers were extremely disappointing. First of all, they charged us $5 for olive oil as it wasn’t included with the bread. I’ve personally never been to any Italian restaurant that charges olive oil separately, so that was a very unpleasant surprise…

We ordered the burrata and the dish literally came as a ball of burrata floating in a layer of olive oil. There was nothing else in that dish. For a $22 dish, I definitely expected more.

The pastas were good, but the disappointing appetizers really left a sour taste in our mouths. We really enjoyed Ask For Luigi but Cantina di Luigi was very underwhelming. I sincerely hope they revamp their appetizer items.

Given that there are many more solid Italian restaurants in the city, I would not recommend.
