Food is tasty and healthy as it comes with many vegetables. Quite unique dishes. And the best thing is outdoor seat dog allowed.

Diving for Pearls was amazing. I love the copious amounts of veggies that was included with my bowl. The soup was nice and light, love the sweet undertones from the lychee.

Ordered two Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. I’ve ordered before but today the volume seemed to be lacking. The takeout cups held what I would guess to be less than 1oz of drink in there after accounting for the ice. Could’ve easily poured one into the other.
Previous visits didn’t have this problem.

Chau Cafe is such a delightful find the moment you walk in you feel welcomed by the cozy, relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. The menu blends classic Vietnamese flavours with fresh, wholesome ingredients, and there are great options for vegan and vegetarian diets as well as meat lovers.
The interior is bright and inviting great for office lunch meeting or a relaxed meal by yourself and the service was prompt even when busy. Whether you’re craving bold Vietnamese flavours or just a cozy place to enjoy mindful, delicious food, this place truly shines. I recently tried the 1978 Pho Soup and the Saigon Bowl both were standouts! The pho had a rich, aromatic broth with perfect layers of lemongrass, ginger, turmeric, star anise and tender chicken it felt deeply comforting and well balanced, with great fresh herbs and noodles that soaked up the flavour beautifully. Both dishes were generously portioned and full of vibrant Vietnamese flavours perfect for a cozy lunch or dinner. The hand cut Taro chips were a delightful starter perfectly crispy with a hint of earthiness, and paired wonderfully with the paprika garlic tofu dip. They were so good they almost stole the show before the main course even arrived!
Overall, every dish was fresh, flavourful, and felt lovingly made. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the experience even better, highly recommend these must-try items if you’re craving Vietnamese food with personality!

tldr; their vietnamese coffee is the best in town, their pho soup is also great!
I've been here for 3 times now; twice for coconut coffee and once for a meal - every time i visit, i feel so welcomed which makes me really happy. Accommodating staff, reasonable prices, and good food (what more could i ask for?)!
I highly recommend trying their vietnamese coffee, which is i think a coconut based coffee but it has a very strong flavor that i appreciate! Oh and I almost forgot to mention that they have a variety of vegan menus along with a chicken broth pho soup (i tried this today and it was SOMETHING!! SO GOOD.)
Just make sure you don't accidentally bite into the green pepper on top - that one was super hot i genuinely thought my throat was burning. LOL.

Hadn’t been since their renovations but gotta admit it’s very well done, designer maximized space without making it feel crowded.
Love love love their Golden Temple Soup, Chocolate Peanut bar and Taro Chips and dip. Liked it so much I came back the next day to try other stuff. I’m glad they have the organic chicken cuz I just couldn’t respect myself if I was eating vegetarian. Got myself a couple jars of their fruity ice cream though, it’s pretty smooth and tasty!

The golden temple soup is one of my all time favourite meals when I crave something healthy, warming, and delicious. I've been getting it for years and years since the restaurant was strictly plant based. The noodles have changed, I loved the old version noodles better but there isn't much that can be done about that. I do have to add extra veggies now too but I'm glad I can still get this soup at all. I always do take away since the atmosphere isn't overly cozy. The people are always very kind, I'm happy the cafe stayed open.

I’m so glad I have found this gem!! This is one of the cleanest Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver I’ve ever been to, and the interior is lovely (the staff said it was designed by the studio upstairs, what a nice neighbor relationship 😆)
And food is top tier too!! Love their golden temple soup, sooo delicious 🤤 my boyfriend ordered the chicken pho, and he love the broth too!
The hot chocolate I received was in perfect presentation too, so nice😊
Will definitely come back again and try the other things on the menu☺️
