Absolutely delicious food. Still have all of the old favorites, with some new delicious additions. Personally still enjoy their old vegetarian dishes more, but their new dishes are great as well. I have it in my rotation to have. They clearly mark the gluten free options, and the food are all flavored delicately, good for people who prefer a healthier, lighter twist of Vietnamese food. Their banhmi was delicious, definitely one of the best ive had. Not sure about authenticity but the meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the bread was great. I probably won't order it too often though because I found it to be a bit too expensive for the price - but I'll order it as a treat every once in awhile.

Been going for years, the most delicious soups on the planet. Miss working a block away.
I stocked up today on my favourite (frozen) golden temple, diving for pearls and red sand dunes. I love combining them in different ways!

Very nice and polite staff as well, very sweet.

I usually purchase 6-10 bags of Taro chips at once for my family. They put the Taro chips dipping Sauce in different style containers at both locations. Granville island vs Victoria dr. The Granville island dip container keeps much better. VICTORIA DRIVE locations dip container is made of paper and dries out the dip which makes an unpleasant chip dipping eating experience. 😋 hope the consistency is important to them.

We come anytime we're visiting Bryan in the city, who orders from here religiously. Clean, bright space; fresh, tasty food; friendly and accommodating staff. Recommend wholeheartedly!

$6 for this coffee, no way, wasn't worth it and I'm usually pretty understanding and fair lol.

More like kids size. C'mon, let's see better from you, what a nice place in this part of East Van.

These people are the nicest, serving such wonderful food! They deserve respect and love for what they provide to the community.

Thank you for being back, thank you for all the wonderful meals!

I ordered their Golden Temple Soup Bowl and Lemongrass chicken with the Pandan latte as my drink. The portion was good and came with a generous amount of toppings.

I was particularly impressed by the restaurant using broccoli as the ingredient for kimchi instead of using the traditional cabbage.

I appreciate the various vegan options to choose from, as I know it’s difficult to find high quality vegan-friendly restaurants.

Although it is not an authentic Vietnamese restaurant (which was what my family was looking for), I can see the potential of the restaurant doing well in the future.

The parking was difficult to find, since it is located near a lot of other restaurants.

Healthy, filling and delicious vegan and vegetarian options. Their golden temple bowl is a must try indeed, that coconut soup was the star. Spring rolls were full of flavor and textures especially when you dip it to their peanut sauce. Awesome service. Definitely will come back!

Love Chau! It’s been a favourite of our family for years. Food is incredible!

Ignore the haters leaving one-star reviews because of the menu change - this place still serves mostly vegan fare, with some new non-vegan additions. Now I don’t have to worry about where we’re going to eat - I can take all sorts of people on all kinds of diets to this place, and everyone is happy!

Great vibes, spot‑on food. The #10 Thao Thao Plate—tender marinated chicken with creamy mashed potatoes—was delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend!

Chau Veggie is theoretically back. But there's a huge take-away here.

The owner left and potentially lied about closing out. Then there's articles of her coming back and re-opening as Chau Cafe. This re-opening insinuates that the owner can re-open and turn the original GREAT vegan restaurant to now introduce non-vegan products to the menu and get away with the re-brand.

It's great that the owner kept the same items, but there is hints of non-vegan items in the meal. To even make it worse, non of the menu items are even labeled vegan or anywhere at all to make sure original customers can safely pick without asking as of this review.

Would be happy if they went back to fully vegan as they had done so well in the past.
