Tried to come on a Monday for happy hour and place was closed even though signs outside says it’s open daily. Has this place gone out of business?
Tired menu. Chairs very uncomfortable.

I like the food here, but I went last night with my girlfriend, were sat immediately, but they took 15 minutes to even get our drink order. In the meantime they took 4 other tables' orders who were sat after us. For our second drink order my gf ordered a Caesar, they asked how spicy she wanted it, and she said very low spice, but the one the brought her was spicier than most ceasars I've ever had. She barely drank it. Food was great but the service was poor.

Chewies Oyster Bar deserves a standing ovation (or at least a very slow clap while holding a fork). We came here expecting good food, but nobody warned us that the poutine would change our lives. Seriously — best. poutine. ever. I may never be able to look at fries the same way again.
On top of that, our server was an absolute legend — friendly, hilarious, and somehow always there right when we needed them, like a food-and-drink guardian angel. Between the oysters, the atmosphere, and that glorious poutine, Chewies is officially our new happy place.

Waited more than 45mins for food. It was not that busy...
Oysters were served last, even after everything else arrived.
Overpriced menu.

Epic West Coast vibe with skilled shuckers who are a blast to watch from the bar. Great staff, fresh and tasty oysters, and a laid-back atmosphere that feels authentic. Vancouver needs more true spots like this – and fewer pretentious, overdone ones. Oh and don't miss out on their Margs!

Great place for oysters. My second time visiting here. Had to come back! Tried each east coast and west coast. So fresh, so good!

Always sit at the bar, and get the most delicious oysters! The staff is legendary, Jamie is the coolest most kind human (shucked a mean oyster) cod bites are a must order!

We’ve been here a few times before and it’s typically decent food/service, but they were obviously struggling on this occasion. Very little attention from the server, excessively long wait for oysters (1.5hrs) and once we received them they weren’t shucked very well and even had a few dead oysters (smelly). The hot food was what we expected, but nothing to rave about.
