I ate here for the first time about a year ago, and I still think about the meal I had from time to time. I really enjoyed both my dinner and dessert. I look forward to coming back again the next time I'm in the area.

Food is fresh and very tasty! Staff is always friendly and very helpful when it comes to trying a new cocktail or menu food item. Good stuff!

Went for brunch Saturday morning and was surprised by a super fun, drag performance. Great job, 'Rogue'!

Second time coming to this restaurant and the second time received poor service. Server seemed annoyed to be working that day. They placed empty water glasses on the table and took a whole to come fill those glasses and take our order. I try to be understanding but also I am going to a restaurant for good food and a good atmosphere. It was so jammed packed and even with a reservation we were left waiting for a while to get seated and order. The food was incredible though. Fair size portions and great mix of flavors. Love the food but not sure I'll go back.

I've been here many times and its consistently amazing. I've also done some of their cooking nights. This is fast becoming a fave in Vancouver for me!

What up you chicha marrones! I came here with some of my family, bread and olive oil type fellers that had the fear when they realized this was tapas food. So we ordered the Peruvian version of that right away which was plantains chips and dip. The menu described the dish including a trio of sauces, but to my surprise all the sauces were in the same bowl. They did not instruct us whether or not to individually try each sauce or combine all of them, but I can say the combination of all 3 sauces was an experience of freedom. Like going to subway knowing you could put all 9 chef inspired sauces on your foot long if you wanted to. Slowly chicha had started to win them over. The real tipping point however was the Spanish somosa, empanadas. They are truly dense and flavorful. And then the pork loin sliders essentially was metaphorical dap of approval. Overall a very enjoyable meal curated by Mobb deep and friends through the speakers. The boys walked in hangry and walked out confused and satisfied.

Cancelled our reservation with 3 hours notice. I had booked a week ago, and they decided today they wanted to give their staff a day off after Dine Out. Not disputing the fact their staff shouldn't be given a well deserved day off, annoyed at the 3 hours notice. Lack of customer appreciation, poor management skills.

[Dineout Review] Solid portion sizes, flavourful dishes, and a cozy environment, not much more that you could ask for. None of the dishes were bad, and there were a few standouts. The papas renellas was a sort of south American samasoa with creamy ground beef, onions, and a whole lot of other goodness that worked really well together. The pollos skewers were another highlight. The chicken was super tender and the lime added a nice bright flavour to the dish. As for the dessert, I would go with the picarones, a subtle sweet potato and pumpkin Peruvian donut. It's not as sweet as I'm used to, which was great, and it had a really flaky texture. The Peruvian cookies were good too, but between the two I would pick the picarones. All in all, I'll be back to Chicha for another round of tapas.

We came here for dine out. What we had was easily the most delicious meal we've ever eaten. Every item we ordered was not only flavourful, but beautifully presented. We can't wait to come back!

I just came back from Peru with a friend and we've been searching high and low for Peruvian food. Chicha has been avoiding our radar but we finally found it, and of course the name of the restaurant relates to Peru's famous purple corn drink! However, sad news as this family eatery is closing its doors in March for the construction of the UBC rail. This was my second DineOut this year. Their cocktail menu is inspired by famous and strong Peruvian woman, and as a feminist I strongly approve of this. I chose the Pisco sour and it's the closest one I've had since I got back from my trip. Most importantly, they also serve chilcanos, which are almost like our mojitos! For $35 menu, we had a choice of an appetizer, two main courses meant for sharing and a dessert. I chose the aji amarillo seafood chowder (delicious, but don't recall seeing much seafood in it), chalaco ceviche (so refreshing with the fresh oranges and green leche de tigre marinade), verduras causa (beet root whipped potato, lima bean puree, pickled beets, Peruvian black mint, Rocoto Chili dusted yam chips), and the picarones (Peruvian doughnuts). I definitely liked the ceviche the most with the mini calamari, followed by the seafood chowder, then the picarones, then the beet root dish. The beet root dish did not have enough potato chips and the beet dip was very thick so I ended up eating the purple ball with a spoon. The picarones were on the sweeter side but well fried. I wish I chose the Alfajores Peruvian cookies because those shortbread with dulce leche sandwich cookies were my absolute favourite while i was in Peru. Hope to be back at least once more before the restaurant closes its doors, go while you can! Great service!

A wonderful dine out choice! Loved the gluten free and vegan options.

Still 4 stars for me. Their Dine Out menu definitely gives good value for money. Our bill came to $160 after tax for four people. We had a total of 16 dishes, which is a lot, as the portion sizes are pretty large. Their "tapas" are basically the size of a full course meal. Definitely come hungry! As I mentioned before, the venue can get pretty loud, and space is a little tight here. We pretty much tried everything on the menu, so this is going to be another long review. APPETIZERS Quinoa Ensalada (4/5) My mom had this, and she quite enjoyed this. The ingredients were fresh, and the flavours were good. The mango and avocado complemented each other well. Aji Amarillo Seafood Chowder (4/5) This was quite tasty as well, although there could've been less potato. The flavours were good, and it was nice and hot. TAPAS Mariscos Fettucini (3.5/5) This was nice, but could have used a bit more sauce. There was also a ton of cheese on top, which I wasn't a massive fan of as it was rather overpowering. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I wish that I knew that there was going to be cheese on top. Verduras Causa (4/5) This was pretty good as well. The beetroot gave a nice sweetness to the whipped potato, and I enjoyed the lima bean puree on top as well. This dish had the texture and consistency of hummus, which I enjoyed. The yam chips were alright, but many of them were soggy. Cauliflower (4.5/5) This was probably my favourite savoury dish of the night. The cauliflower was sweet and the yam puree was fantastic. The raw onions on top complemented this dish well as it helped offset the sweetness of the glazed cauliflower and the yam puree. I wish the cauliflower was a little softer and that it was cut into smaller pieces, as it would be less difficult to eat. Adobe (3/5) I had high hopes for this one, but it was just okay. The tomatoes tasted like they came out of a can, and the honey bread crostini was not good at all. I could only manage a few bites, and everyone else left it untouched. The chickpeas and eggplant were cooked nicely though. Papas Rellenas (4.5/5) This was my family's favourite dish of the night. The croquette was perfectly crispy, and the beef inside was super flavourful. Pollo Skewers (3.5/5) These were alright, but nothing too special. Costillos de Cerdo (2/5) My parents said that the ribs were too dry, and I wasn't a fan of the potato salad nor the orange barbecue sauce. This dish gets a no from me. We didn't finish it as we didn't like it. DESSERT Alfajores Peruvian Cookies (4.5/5) These were very sweet, but good. I especially liked the shortbread, which was fantastic. However, the dulce de leche was too sweet for my liking, and I didn't like the orange sauce that it came with. If I knew that there would be orange sauce at the bottom, I would have requested that they not add it, so I wouldn't have to waste half of a perfectly good shortbread cookie. Picarones (3/5) These were served piping hot, so props to that. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the cinnamon taste, so we didn't finish this as we were all quite full at this point. Overall, this was a decent dine out experience. There were some hits and misses, but overall it wasn't bad. Taste-wise, it could use a little bit of work, but if you're looking for value - this is the place to go.

Not authentic Peruvian food. The pisco sours are a poor representation of the original. They are extremely bitter and almost artificially flavored. As I saw the restaurant delivering food to other tables, I simply had to leave. The store mentioned on a menu that they are closing/relocating. I highly recommend they revisit their menu and ingredients to bring more authenticity to their food.
