The food at Chickpea is excellent. I was extremely satisfied with almost every menu item I tried (more on that later). However, I strongly recommend you do NOT order the Hafla. It's very expensive, everyone at the table must order it, and though it says "all you can eat" they will only refill the side dishes, not the main (which they give you a small amount of). Also, most of the menu items are served as a large portion - definitely expect to take home leftovers if you're not a big eater. The restaurant is large, with plenty of seats. As long as you're not a large party you probably won't have trouble getting a table. The service is a little odd here - the servers aren't very attentive. You basically have to flag one down if you need something. Also, though Google Maps says they close at 10, they stop seating customers at about 9. Make sure you arrive before then, or you'll have to order food to-go. The items I tried were: Chickpea Steak main - Absolutely phenomenal, would definitely get again. It is a perfect substitute for shredded beef/brisket. Lion's Mane Mushroom Steak main - It was okay, but quite heavily spiced and oily. Wouldn't get again. Cauliflower Steak main - Very soggy, not very tasty. Would not recommend. Eggs Benechick - The best thing I ordered at the restaurant. Large portion, extremely delicious. The vegan poached egg was pretty good - great texture, but could be more flavorful. The Platter - Pretty good, has a wide variety of the food served at the restaurant. Shakshuka - Amazing, but it is one of the menu items that comes as a smaller portion. It did seem like the staff might be willing to give you a lot of pita to go with it though! Hafla - As stated above, I strongly recommend against ordering this. It's very expensive and it's not an enjoyable experience.

Wow. I got the chickcheese sandwich and it's as cheesy and buttery as I remember sandwiches being before I went vegan. The yam and eggplant was so good in it too. My friend got the latkes Benechick and it was amazing too. Highly recommend!

Chikebab in any form is a must. Fries are fantastic starters. Staff are so lovely and the artwork is beautiful

I love Chickpea! Everything there is delicious and made with so much care. The food is fresh the portions are big and the atmosphere always feels warm and welcoming. I've never had a bad meal here. It's one of my favourite spots in the city

Everything was so good at Chickpea that I wish we would have been able to eat there more than once during our stay. Every item is an inventive take on comfort food.

Their food is subpar and overpriced at best. I’ve tried vegan food all over the world and sadly this ranks low on my list. I’ve tried it many times now and keep giving it more chances and always end up disappointed by the taste, textures, spices and quality of the food.

I walked the entire like 5 miles of Main street and didn’t quite find what cuisine to have for my lunch, I was grateful that this diner popped up on my search engine when I was nearly at the end of the street.
I ain’t a vegetarian, I’m contented to have a vegan meal from time to time though.
I ordered a breakfast platter with chicksteak, home fries and pita. As a tofu enthusiast, I went with a tofu egg.
Chicksteak took me by surprise, it tasted like pork, nothing like vegan, and super chewy.
Home fries were crunchy than the most.
Lastly I forgot what beverage I drank.

I loved the cauliflower platter with chickpea fries (amazing idea) and the hummus was nicely done.

This vegan spot serves up amazing Middle Eastern-inspired food in a relaxed, boho/hippie atmosphere. Highlights included the malawach with oyster mushrooms and vegan poached egg, and the lions mane steak rice platter. Even a non-vegan friend was blown away by the flavors. Generous portions, adorable interior, and great service make it a must-try.

Falafels were moist in the inside and super crispy on the outside! Hummus was smooth, flavourful and I could just keep eating. The shwarma could have used a tad bit more seasoning and salt but still yummy! Fries are otherworldly! We also tried the matcha and cappucino! Decent cuppas 👌
