Home away from home, I've been here at this place quite a few times since I moved to Vancouver. I've had tried their Rajasthani Kawe, Kachoris and Moongdal Pakoras—just one word, "amazing." I've heard good things about this restaurant from many, and every word is accurate so far. I'll update the review once I try their Royal Thali. The staff is accommodating and soft-spoken, the restaurant is clean and had decor that takes you back to Rajasthan ❤️

Went to try Rajasthani Food with my family on a busy Friday night, was blown away with the food and hospitality, huge portions, fantastic service and friendly staff. Loved the owners who were making rounds on tables to get the feedback. My daughter likes their aloo Tikki and baati. Highly recommend this place!

A very nice authentic Indian cuisine. The taste won't blow your mind away but it's really very close to what it should be. I understand the taste difference because most people here cannot take on the real Indian spices hence I would give it a 8/10. They do have just daal bati too for which I will be going back for sure.Kachoris were amazing.

It’s been forever since we have craved for a restaurant serving Indian cuisine from a different region.Tatta Chulha is the first Indian restaurant serving Rajasthani cuisine in Canada.Just like the traditional Rajasthani cuisine this restaurant offers some exotic and scrumptious combo meals and dishes that are sure to delight the taste buds of foodies. We ordered the Royal Thali which comes with 15+ of most popular traditional dishes and each one tasted more delicious and authentic than the other. For people who can manage to finish all the items on thali, you get one free refill of each item. The chef has managed to maintain the authenticity of the flavors without making it too spicy like the traditional Rajasthani food which would be well suited for western pallet. The Dal Baati combo came with 2 Baati (tennis ball sized round wheat balls cooked in oven) with a generous serving of Dal in a bowl(to dip the Baati) and a slightly sweet and nutty ‘choorma ladu’. The Baati were cooked perfectly and were hard on the outside and soft on the inside. The whole dish was so delicious that by end of it our stomach was so full yet our hearts were not.And lastly we ordered a portion of ‘Moong Dal Kachori’ which came with 4 Kachoris with generous moong Dal stuffing while we were eating them, we were reminded of the last time we had a Dal Kachori in Vancouver and we were wrong to assume at that time that we would never find one which even remotely resembles to what we get back in Indian. This restaurant has a really bright future ahead of them provided they can maintain the same quality and service when then get busy and famous. We will most definitely be back to try rest of the menu.

The Thali was quite good. Good variety, and the daal bhaati was good too.Sweets were quite mediocre. The price is slightly on the higher side. The Thali is also quite filling, so most likely you might not end up asking for second servings.Overall good Rajasthani food, and you will enjoy it if you like that cuisine.

We really loved our food from Tatta Chulha. The portions are very generous and the spices in each dish are exceptionally well-balanced. Also, the sauces are fantastic (I could have a whole bowl of the mint chutney alone). I think it's best to order lots of dishes and share them to taste as many as possible!

This was my first time trying Rajasthani food/thali and it was soooo good. Each and every dish was savory and had proper flavors. The salt and spices are on point. Desserts are delicious. I am not a big fan of chaach but loved theirs. Make sure you go empty stomach and wear comfortable clothing lol. It is really hard to stop eating such tasty food.

It was my first time trying a Rajasthani food. It was a great experience. The food was fresh and tasty! The only downside is the old building carpet smell. It's bit strong for me.

Me and my husband were planning to visit this restaurant for so long but couldn’t due to pandemic and finally the day had come and we visited with our friends today.Tatta Chulha is a simple yet amazing experience. The ambience is very simple and you won’t get luxurious feel like fine dining but who cares if you have yummilicious food in front of you.The quality of Rajasthani thali and the taste definitely takes you back to Rajasthan, India. The hosts were amazing and very welcoming. It does not feel like a restaurant, it feels like you are being invited to someone’s house, that’s how welcoming they were.Just for those curious people who wants to know what was there in thali:It had Daal Bati Churma laddoo, 2 rotis with gatte ki sabji, aloo sabzi, gajar matar and kadhi, rice pulao, aloo tikki with chatni and Kheer. Also the best part is they provide refills as well ?I am hoping to visit here again soon.

I really enjoyed a number of their dishes and feel there is good value for the price. I ordered takeout for a Sunday dinner which fed 5 adults and 2 kids and the approximate price per person was $17 which is reasonable.

That was the worst Indian food I’ve ever had. Small portions, naan like dough and no flavour in the sauce. Very disappointing

This place has very mediocre to poor quality food. Way too overpriced for the quantity. Service wasn't that great either. We went in at about 4pm and the person inside just pointed us to the table whilst sitting at the other end of the restaurant. I get why locals would enjoy food they have never eaten from its true place of origin, but I'd rather recommend you go to Dosa corner near Marine drive or Saravana Bhavan at Surrey. This is just a poor show in the name of South Indian food. Taste wise and service wise.

We ordered food from Chutney Villa yesterday. The food is very tasty and customer service seems to be very good. Very good portion sizes and prices are reasonable. There is a good variety of dishes. The Briyani is awesome and Dosa was very tasty.. Keep up the great work.
