Counter service was very friendly and to the point, after a short wait got some of the best fish and chips I’ve encountered in Vancouver. Portions much larger than Go Fish and every bit as good, with far better service and way more options. Also way cheaper. Chips were perfect, homemade tartar sauce was great, and the coleslaw was super fresh. Nice to see some diversity in terms of staffing too! Swear I don’t work here!

Staff are welcoming and friendly. We didn’t expect to have such a delicious fish and chips in Kits.
A restaurant where I happened to go for dinner. When I asked about the restroom, she kindly told me I could use it even if I didn't buy one. I had the salmon fish & chips, and the freshly fried ones were delicious!

The best fish and chips by far in Metro Vancouver. The Kits location is small but service was brisk and friendly. All dishes are cooked to order and the portions are generous. The small dining area can get busy as you wait. It was great to see this British cuisine being enjoyed by a multicultural crowd. Be sure to ask for salt and malt vinegar and maybe tartare sauce as these are not provided automatically.

Amazing fish and chips, and mushy peas. I got the halibut with fries, slaw, tartar sauce, and a side of mushy peas. Best fish and chips I’ve had. Super light, crispy batter, delicious fish, fresh and tasty fries. The mushy peas were excellent too. The portions are large (I couldn’t finish the fries). Very friendly service too. You gotta eat here.

Best fish and chips place in the lower mainland, and one of only 2 places I know of, in Van, who use tallow (beef fat) to cook with. As another user on here mentioned, you don't feel ill after eating it, even though it's deep-fried, and that's cause everything these days is cooked with toxic seed oils (canola, soy, rapeseed, etc) whereas it all used to be cooked with tallow or lard, and you can feel the difference immediately after eating it - it doesn't leave you feeling sick and bloated! I hope more people start to catch on to how toxic seed oils are and how much better food is for you when cooked with animal fat, which is my main motivator for writing this review. Kudos to Cockney for doing it right, and this will be one of my regular go-to spots from now on.
Also, the staff were super friendly and helpful, so shoutout to them as well.
