Lovely place and ambiance, with good cuisine.

The meals while tasting great and tasting great could have some minor improvement to be incredible. The steak, which we were told can only be served medium-rare, was more medium-ish, I don't understand such a restaurant does not make any effort tocook meat as customer likes it. The 22$ cocktail shrimp come to a steep 5$ per shrimps (I'll leave 2$ for the sauce) !! The duck was actually very good, and the profiteroles, with a puzzling description, was quite enjoyable actually!

Otherwise, a great experience and would totally go back for the Thursday tasting menu!

Went there for Dine Out Vancouver, and the menu was well worth the price. The steaks were juicy and cooked perfectly, while the fish was moist and tender inside. The brandy peppercorn sauce was on the sweeter side, but that might just be my taste since I’m not too familiar with French cuisine. The servers were extremely knowledgeable about the ingredients and dishes. Overall, I highly recommend the bar seats for a great view of the open kitchen!

I’m disappointed to leave this review, as I first emailed the restaurant but never got a response.

My friend and I made a reso and were excited to dine here, but constant reminders about the next reservation that was coming in 30 minutes made us feel rushed. It took away from what should have been an enjoyable experience.

The real issue came after we paid. As we waited for our Uber, another server we’d never interacted with walked up and, in an unreasonably rude tone, demanded we leave. When we pointed out our Uber was just a minute away, he snapped “we already told you so”. When we mentioned we wouldn’t be back, he smirked and said, “great, you don’t have to.”

As someone with years in hospitality, I’m shocked by such aggressive, unprofessional service. I wanted to love this place, but after this, I can’t recommend it.

We were very satisfied with the Dine Out menu appetizers; however, when it came to the mains, there were some issues. The ling cod was served in a pot with soup, but it was just warm—below body temperature. It also cooled down very quickly since the plate was not heated. As for the other mainn dish, the steak and frites tasted average, but it was supposed to be medium-rare. According to the manager, it was intentionally served cold and "just warm" so as not to raise the center temperature. Personally, I eat medium-rare beef all the time, and it does not need to have an ice-cold exterior to achieve this. To be completely honest, the outside of the steak was so cold that it had no warmth at all, possibly due to the sauce or because it was left out to rest for too long.

What was most disappointing, however, was the manager's attitude, which came across as very unpleasant and dismissive, as if others don’t understand food or cooking.

The overall quality of the food has noticeably declined. Both CG and Mercy have revamped their menus, seemingly aiming for simplicity by offering fewer options. While I understand the intention to streamline the menu, I feel they’ve gone too far, leaving diners with too few choices.

The steak was cooked to perfection, but the peppercorn sauce had an unexpected sweet note that detracted from the dish. On the other hand, the chicken liver was outstanding—a definite highlight of the meal.

The burger was undeniably tasty, but at the end of the day, it’s still just a burger. Charging $30 for a mini version feels excessive and leaves a lasting impression—but not in a good way.

Plates were small but delicious. The place is so cute and reminds me of a bistro in Paris. Highly recommend for a mini-vacation.

I recently tried the Thursday tasting menu for $50, and while I appreciate the effort that goes into it, I found the overall experience lacking for the price.

The highlights were the sablefish and beet salad, which were both delicious. However, most of the other dishes were quite average and overly salty, which detracted from the flavors. The beef, in particular, was disappointing; it was chewy and didn't seem to be of high quality. While the sauce paired nicely, the fries felt out of place with such an upscale meal—something more creative would have been a better fit.

For dessert, although it looked great, it was too rich and sweet for my taste. A lighter option, like a soufflé or chocolate mousse, would have been a more enjoyable finish.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the atmosphere is lovely, but I left feeling that my $200 bill wasn't justified based on the meal quality. I hope this feedback helps improve the dining experience for others.

Basically no vegetarian options. If vegetarian, they will offer one of their side dishes as a main, but luckily it was yummy (currently farrow risotto). The Thursday tasting menu is a full size version of each menu item, split between 3-4 people. So ensure the menu looks good to you before ordering. The food is well made. Our server was very friendly but we had to wait for our table reservation and the person who seated us couldn’t answer a single question we had.

Came here and realized they have the Thursday tasting menu for $50pp. My gosh. What great value. All dishes were exceptional, except for the desserts - both are way too sweet. The restaurant was very loud - there’s zero sound proofing.

Wonderful Surprise. You cannot be disappointed The quaint and welcoming atmosphere instantly make you feel comfortable.
Staff is genuinely cheerful and professional. The food is/was extraordinary and a delightful surprise. The burgers we had were next level. We went there to eat the steak but the burgers drew us in. An experience not to be missed.

Came for the Thursday tasting menu deal, for $50 per person. 5 course meal served by super friendly staff. The meal itself was superb. Each dish gets progressively better. We were full at the end, so we didn't need to add the burger as an additional course but we'll definitely come back to try it!

We received a gift card for Collective Goods Bistro & Grocer for Christmas and finally used it 8 months later! It's our first time dining at this restaurant. Driving to the restaurant we passed it but I said to my hubby, "Oh I see the restaurant to our left, it's so cute and it's yellow!" Entering the restaurant, first impression: it's cozy and welcoming like a warm hug!

We didn't order the Thursday $50 tasting menu as we weren't too hungry but we will try it next time. The Chicken Live mousse must have as it was so smooth and delicious with port wine gelee and Saskatoon berry compote. The Salmon Meunier is similar to ceviche with every bite with fried caper berries and candied black pepper lemon was delightful and fresh. You cannot go wrong with Duck with farro, squash, fig, orange mostardo with red wine jus. Chef kiss!

The service was excellent and great for a date or getting together with friends. They did give us the wrong receipt to pay which is why I am giving this 4.5/5 stars.
