I gatekeep a lot from the people i know irl but not this northern vietnamese restaurant, everyone deserves to come try every single item on their menu, and that is coming from a northern viet born and raised and super picky eater.

This place is fun. The diners are enthusiastic and talking loud at family style tables. There are comfortable booths along the side. The cooks are obviously skilled, flavours and style bring me back to when I lived in Vietnam 25 years ago, so delightful. Since Mr. Red has departed east van this is our new go-to. Wonderful.

Already felt like home visiting this place for the first time, I was blown away by they staff’s hospitality. Food was spot on, really authentic, as good as what you could expect what a real taste of Vietnamese crab soup is.
They also have house-made “che”, a traditional Vietnamese sweet dessert, using all natural ingredients 🤩
Can’t recommend enough! You gotta give it a try folks! Thank you co Aimee, co Thuy and co Ngoc for the wonderful experience!!!

We used to visit this place often and always enjoyed it but recently they’ve changed all their staff and unfortunately so the service. The old lady seemed annoyed making us feel like we were bothering her. We didn’t feel comfortable asking questions and when our food arrived she just threw it onto the table. It was disappointing. There were 5 of us and we all felt the same way. Poor service really took away from the experience. Thankfully Eve was amazing, attentive and kind. We were grateful she served us. The food remains as delicious and authentic. It’s just a shame that the service no longer matches the quality of the food. We hope things improve because this place has so much potential.

I often come here to eat a lot. In the past, the restaurant was quite good, but recently I have encountered bad attitudes from the staff, no respect for customers and no friendliness. Encountering employees with short hair and bangs, they always answer that they don't know and are not enthusiastic about giving advice or being economical with customers.

This restaurant served me delicious vegetarian fried noodles, and a juice, at 15% discount during a Happy Hour period. i would just like to comment that the juice was served in a plastic cup with a plastic lid, which i did not expect. i was sad that my order had to use plastic.

Heard so many good things about this place. It’s a no nonsense restaurant. We ordered the square crab spring rolls , crab noodles , chicken wings , and lemon grass chicken with rice on the side. The spring rolls came right away and had lettuce and fresh herbs served with a dipping sauce. The fish sauce chicken wings are to die for. Crispy with just the right flavour.

I love all the foods that we ordered today: the green papaya salad, crab spring rolls (amazing!), crab hotpot is full of Vietnamese village spirit! Highly recommend 💃🏻 don't have any pictures because we were busy eating 🤣

It's attractive because it tastes different from the Vietnamese noodles you usually experience in Vancouver. The food overall seemed to suit the Korean palate well, and I felt comfortable after eating it as almost no seasoning was used.
I especially enjoyed the crab spring rolls and crab fried rice. The crab noodles seem to be slightly different every time Gemsal Yang visits. The amount of meat at Bun Cha was very small compared to the price, and looking at other tables, the amount of meat overall was less than other Vietnamese restaurants.
Since the price range is higher than other places, it is recommended to take advantage of Mondays when there is a 15% discount. I recommend visiting when you are tired of regular Vietnamese food.

Crab Hot Lau is a Vietnamese restaurant with an emphasis on incorporating crab with some of their Vietnamese dishes. I enjoyed their spring rolls with crab meat and their noodles in soup. They have booths and table seating, it gets busy during meal times. Located on the busy street of Kingsway.
Parking: There's only street parking available, or you can park around the side streets.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's only one level.

high expectations bring high disappointment. Crab square is more pork than crab.
Crab broth taste nth like crab but mushroom. Crab meat doesn’t have much umami.
Pork chop was kinda thin for the rice plate.
Chicken wing is better and I like the meat wrapped leaves.

Excellent options menu and delicious food. However, prices have risen considerably compared to our previous experiences. Crab Lau, you should consider adjusting your prices or increasing portion sizes.
