Sensational classic brulee and wonderful seasonal and original flavors.
Waffles are a nice treat being fresh made-but everything is.

The staff has passion and is consistent; while the room's tone is relaxing, and whimsical-sort of like you're off in some fantasy novel of the future... Its a feeling-just try it!

Stopped by Crackle Crème on Union St for a dessert fix and it didn’t disappoint! The apple pie crème brûlée was spot on because it really captured that apple pie flavor, even the crust, without the crust texture (pretty cool, actually). The honey lavender was smooth and fragrant, though definitely a more mature flavor so the kids gave it a thumbs down. The alfajor was delicious but I wish it had that chocolate dip like they do in Argentina. The macarons were cute, just okay flavor-wise. I wished I had time to try some drinks but a charming little spot with creative twists on classic sweets.

I was introduced to this dessert cafe by a friend. They specialize in two things: character macarons and creme brulee, and also coffee and tea beverages. The creme brulee comes in an assortment of unique flavours. They have both regular and vegan creme brulee, and the vegan flavours are just as interesting and varied as the regular flavours.
I got there a little early, so while waiting for my friend to arrive I had a Thai jasmine iced tea. This was really good - the rich creaminess and sweetness of Thai tea with a strong and fragrant jasmine green tea instead of the usual red.
Once my friend got there, we ordered creme brulee. I got the vegan durian and she got the lychee yogurt flavour. We sampled each others' creme brulees and both were delicious! The lychee yogurt creme brulee tasted just like lychee yogurt bubble tea and even had coconut jelly pieces inside. I didn't notice a big difference in consistency between the vegan and non-vegan creme brulee.
Really friendly staff. The shop is a little small, and unfortunately does not have a customer washroom, but there are some stools along a counter inside (with hooks underneath for bags and coats) and a few seats outside. This stretch of Union Street is one of the quieter commercial streets in Strathcona/Chinatown, and I would happily sit outside here on a nice day.

I heard about this shop on social media and decided to come in. It's a small shop and out front it has a few seats for patrons. I love it cause in the summer the dogs can hang out front. Daniel, the shop keeper, keeps it clean out front too. I saw him spraying down the side walk with hot water.

Upon entering it's a cozy setup. Daniel is definitely a cartoon/car guy. He noticed my dogs inside my car as well, a dog lover. He's got a cute setup going on with his waffles and macarons up front, casual cafe menu, and a little fridge with cold drinks to grab and go. I brought a friend back and she ordered the waffle, oh man it was good!

That waffle was better then cafe medinas, seriously. It's moist. Cafe medinas waffles are overhyped and a bit dry.

I got the half dozen macarons and the characters are pretty cute lol. His concept definitely sells for originality. Classical culinary cooking modified to his own. Each character has its own flavor, for example, the keeropi frog is pistachio. The packaging is a clean and neat slide box, with a see through screen on top for viewing, very very cool. Price after taxes is 18 bucks for a half dozen, reasonable for the amount of work involved for a one man team.

These make an amazing gift for someone.
