We found this place on a USA Today recommendation. We had a few things that were delicious! I’d highly recommend. Our sever and food runner were so incredibly kind and explained all the food. It was overall a wonderful experience! My husband got the crab rice but it wasn’t our favorite. But the sticky rice was soooo good! Really great place!
Came here for an office birthday party, had nine people for lunch and together with drinks, the bill came to over $400. I was a bit shocked as this was lunch only. The service was slow, and I was told by the server next time order ahead, but this was the first time for most of us except for two of us. There was also absolutely nothing for the carb conscious diner, unlike Chao Mami which has a pork belly platter with lots of veggies for a nice lettuce wrap. The drinks were mostly ice and from a glance at the bill, were pricy for what you get, with one of them having any alcohol. Apparently everyone enjoyed the noodles in the pho (most of the party had some form of soup with noodles) and the wings were really delicious but pricy again for the quantity as I think it worked out to be $3 per wing, when you think about it, $18 for six wings is not really worth that price just for wings. They offered a free dessert for the person in our party with a birthday, but did not reveal what it was until it came. Nice surprise but to banana allergic guest, a banana dessert is not that good of a choice. It was good to try something different as I was told they had one of the best Bun Bo Hue, but I may not go there myself again.
Excellent Banh Mi. Quick pleasant service. Very clean. Music a bit loud for my taste but still easy to converse.
Good food and service

The fried eggplant was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the vegan curry was rich and nicely spiced. Together, they made a great meal. Definitely recommend for tasty plant-based options!!

We plan to eat at another restaurant in here but unfortunately that restaurant was closed. So we try this place for the first time and so disappointed that the food was so salty and we also wanted to order some special drink but almost everything we ordered was out of stock too

We are a family from Calgary and have been to Vancouver 3 times. We fell in love with DD Mau from the first time we visited and had to come at least once when we visited again. We have tried most of the special dish like Damn Good Chicken & Rice, Fried Crab Pocket, Bun Cha Ha Noi, Banh Mi, etc. My mother in law who is very picky love the Crab Fried Rice so that says a lot. I really like the decoration remind us of our home in Vietnam. Definitely come back again if we ever come back to Vancouver!

《 BANH-MI BEEF DIP?!》
- short rib beef dip banh mi = $18.50 -
- lychee jasmine iced tea = $5.50 -
- liquid tiramisu = $8.50 -
Gonna keep it short and sweet (like their liquid tiramisu, which is Hanoi-style coffee with egg cream) and tell you DD Mau Chinatown is amazing. Go if you haven't already tried them out.
I love banh mi and I love pho broth. When you give me a short rib banh mi sandwich to dunk into a concentrated bowl of pho broth like a beef dip, what is there to not love? ? Well just in case you had any doubts, they threw in a runny fried egg on top too. ?

DD Mau has a great atmosphere and ambiance that makes for a nice dining experience. However, the food was just okay—not bad, but not outstanding either. The staff were friendly, but they were a bit too loud, chatting and laughing among themselves, which made it hard to enjoy the meal fully. It could definitely use a bit more focus on customer experience.
Parking: Paid parking available. Be careful to not leave any belongings in the car
