Oh my - i do not think i can properly state how awesome these "pancakes" are - please please please try them - and they have choices for just about everything - i went with the more classic approach - half maple syrup and strawberries and cream on the other half (i ordered it as strawberries and cream with a side of the syrup) - the location is not even in question - right on the water - try to get a window table - and our server (and crap i cannot recall her name) really made the occasion superb - a must dining experience in Vancouver
The good: clean interiors and beautiful views of the North Shore Mountains and Vancouver Harbour. Can be busy so having Open Table to book took the stress off. Was seated at exactly our reservation time. The bad: we had to ask for cutlery and teaspoons for our coffee. At 11:15am our food had not arrived while two other tables who sat down 5-10mins after us had their food served. We inquired and was told the eggs had to take a longer time which was not true as the other table also had eggs on their plates. We never receive an apology or even something to make up for their mistake. Been along time fan of De Dutch but makes me not wish to comeback to this location for a very long time. To the manager, please do better with training and timing.
We were looking for something close to our hotel and found De Dutch and were so pleased that we went again! Great food with a great view! Love the atmosphere and we had lovely service! We had the Boers breakfast and the Amsterdam Benedict. The avocado that I had on the side was perfectly fresh and the next visit I had the fruit and it was a great mix of fresh fruit. We had coffee and fresh squeezed OJ and both were great. We highly recommend going here if you are staying around Coast Coal Harbour.
Excellent experience. The only issue was that one server was extremely busy with many tables at one time.
We had a terrible experience: our breakfast was cold , I asked for a discount: I got a 10%.... Although they knew we were celebrating Mother's Day ( in France it was last Sunday ) The food was of poor quality : it tasted like processed food and it was noisy. We really don't recommend
Service is very friendly but very slow, we have been there twice and it seems they are understaffed during peak hours. The food is not terrible but nothing special. It’s okay for a quick bite while waiting for a ferry or seaplane but if you have more time there are so many other better breakfast spots

Beautiful view of the harbour and mountains. The food is delicious; great value for your dollar and more. Their unique style of a pancake crepe makes us come back every time we are in Vancouver. 💯 thé spot for a great brunch whether with your partner, friends or family.
Our waiter was absolutely fantastic but everything else here is bad 😅 It's too bad. The food is bad, the atmosphere is anything but cozy and comfortable, and my hot chocolate wasn't well, hot. Went there for a second time and swore off not to ever return again.
Highlight is view. Lowlight is food. Don't order the Elvis, as its way too dry

I had an extremely disappointing experience and this is my first time ever writing a review.
When we arrived, the restaurant was busy, and we waited about 10-15 minutes for a table, which was reasonable. However, after we were seated, more tables opened up, but the service remained frustratingly slow.
When placing my order, I asked about getting two smaller-sized “klein” pancakes as a half-and-half order. The server told me that a single pancake was about $18, but if I ordered two smaller ones, it would be $18 plus an extra $3-4. Based on this information, I went with the smaller option.
While waiting, we noticed several customers around us complaining about slow service, with some even telling the staff they were in a rush and had to leave. Unfortunately, we had the same experience, waiting almost 40 minutes for our food. Since we didn’t complain or rush them, no one checked on us at all during that time.
When the food finally arrived, there was no apology for the long wait. Even after that, our water glasses were left empty, and we were never offered refills.
The final frustration came when we received the bill. We were charged for two full orders of pancakes ($18 x 2) instead of the expected $22 total based on what the server originally explained. When we asked about it, we were told it was actually a $3-4 discount per order, which was never explained when I initially asked. Had we known, we would have just ordered the full size. Again, there was no apology for the confusion.
Despite all of this, we still left a tip because the food itself was good. However, the poor service, long wait times, lack of communication, and overall attitude from the staff made this an incredibly frustrating experience. I won’t be returning.

I did not want to write this review for this restaurant. I've just been served too many times COLD FOOD. I ordered hash browns and toast for delivery and I do not expect it to be piping hot. I don't expect it to be cold and hard either.
I have ran into this issue WHILE INSIDE the restaurant. My husband ran a restaurant for 10 years, I know some things. I am Definitely taking my business elsewhere. Don't I deserve hot food? I believe so.

I grew up going to De Dutch - so everything about it feels like nostalgia for me. The pannekoek taste exactly the same every time - which is what I’m looking for.
This specific location was a little lacking on the service. Everything was just a little bit slow this Sunday morning. I suspected they may have been short staffed - though it was the same when I was there the year prior. But overall, I’d go back without hesitation.

They were very accommodating when we called to advise that we were unavoidably detain for our reservation. When we arrived we were promptly seated and received outstanding service and good food.
