I like going to the Devil's elbow before Whitecaps matches because of the proximity to the stadium, always have a good time! Great beer selection, I love the veggie burger and cauliflower bites, service was great last night and friendly (as per usual). I was there with a buddy from 5pm to about 6:45pm. My only complaint was the music was excruciatingly loud forcing us to yell at each other.I don't ever remember it being like that in the past.I'm an ex brewery/bar worker so I know the reasoning behind the loud music is a psychological one to get customers to eat and drink more and to pull in a younger crowd, I get it.

We decided to try the platter for two. It was good, but not great. The tater tots were over done. The meat was smothered in BBQ sauce so it didn't really give you an opportunity to taste it.

I would love to rate the food, service or atmosphere but I was not able to get a seat when tables were visibly available. I will rate the website and making a reservation - POOR. The site clearly states they do not take reservations before any BC Lions, Canucks, Whitecaps and "only walk-ins are accepted". This is a total lie. There were empty tables and the hosts said these reservations were made "months" in advance. I guess it just happened to coincide with a Whitecaps game, my bad...
It was also pouring rain and was told I could not wait inside the bar/restaurant for our spot on the waitlist, we had to wait outside. I was perfectly willing to buy a drink but that was not available to me. Odd for a bar not to have people drinking. Do not fall for the "we don't take reservations crap on their website"...it is a total untruth and they are making themselves look foolish.

Staff are good. Food is mediocre. I don't understand why they decided to have "mac n cheese" cornbread instead of regular cornbread. It isn't an improvement, just comes across as a mushy gimmick. Their fried brussel sprouts had fantastic flavour but it was mostly leaves so it was overly greasy. The macaroni and cheese was needlessly spicy (I'm not a huge fan of heat, so YMMV, but it was much more than just a hint of spice). My friend's report on the quesadilla was "Its's ok".

The food was pretty bad. The fried chicken plate states it has two chicken breasts. It was more like 4 thin, burnt chicken tenders with dry spice rub sprinkled on top. It was overcooked, dried out, and burnt. The brisket sliders were edible, but definitely ranked in the bottom 10% of brisket I’ve eaten in my life. Proportions on that were off too. It was more chopped brisket than slices which was what I had hoped/expected.
The drinks were great.
The server wasn’t very welcoming when we walked in or sat down.
Cute decor and place though.
Would NOT recommend for food at all. Drinks were fine, but there were plenty of other places around with a better vibe with better food.

We were so disappointed with our food from Devil's Elbow. We shared the platter for 2. The ribs were dry, and the brisket was very greasy but not very flavourful. The pulled pork was the only thing we both enjoyed. We also got the mac and cheese corn bread, and it was awful. It didn't have much flavour. We also thought it was odd that there aren't house bbq sauces on the table, as is common at the BBQ bars in Alberta. Overall the food was very bland.
Our server was really great though, and our beers were good. It's a cute place, but the food is not worth it.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick beer after a comedy show at Roger’s arena, on arrival the hostess seemed bothered or disgruntled that we had waited at the ‘please wait’ sign.
We asked for a table for two and we said the bar would be fine.
So we sat down at the bar and my wife went to use the washroom, while she was away a female bartender asked what I would like, so I ordered two beers for us. Without asking me for my ID she rudely said “I need to make sure the person you’re with is above age and not intoxicated!!!” (We are 34 and 30 yo)
I mean by all means, check our ids but why rudely imply that I’m at the bar with an underage intoxicated person.
My wife arrived back, and the bartender served us our drinks still without asking for ID.
We both wanted to leave as we felt very unwelcome. We asked for the bill and the bartender said we could have the drinks for free due to the situation that occurred. Overall, a bad experience, very rude staff that night. Wouldn’t go back.

The coconut spicy margaritas are absolutely delicious. Get as many of those as you can. The service is friendly and helpful yet not attentive. You have to ask to be waited on if you want more drinks or food. The food in terms of being well cooked is good, but the flavours were strong on the vinegar profile & the flavours tasted the same or ran together.

Looked like a great place but the service we received was arrogant and terrible. A server toward the end of the night accused one of our group of being inebriated beyond service despite him just being tired and then treated the whole party rudely and was accusatory when we asked her why she was treating us so poorly. We asked to speak to the manager, but she pointed the blame on us despite the clear fact we were not drunk and she did not take any responsibility for the server’s baseless accusations. I don’t post ratings (at all) but the service was beyond rude and arrogant here I felt the need to let others who might consider going here to know they shouldn’t. What was supposed to he a chill get together with coworkers turned out to be an unpleasant and uncalled for verbal exchange with the bar staff. Really disappointing.

Chicken wings were pretty dry. I've always loved this place though so I'm hoping it was a one time only thing. Being a smokehouse, I really expect the wings to be spot on. We also had the Brisket Mac and Cheese and it was honestly the best I've ever had. Hard to leave a 3 star good review but considering we had 3 orders of wings on the table and they were all overcooked its hard not to. It hurts me leaving this review.

We made a reservation and were really looking forward to a nice dinner, but unfortunately, our experience was ruined before it even started. After making the effort to come all the way to your restaurant, we were greeted with complete disappointment.
No one bothered to inform us in advance about the issue, which could have easily been avoided with a simple phone call. Instead, we had to find out only after arriving, leaving us frustrated and scrambling for other plans. It’s incredibly unprofessional and shows a lack of respect for your customers’ time and expectations.
We were excited to try your food and enjoy our night, but you completely messed it up. Truly disappointing!

Would’ve been great if they had let us know about a private party instead of reserving a table for us. Doesn’t make any sense to be honest.
