The food was delicious. however, we almost didn’t stay to eat it, as the place has a mouse issue. through our meal, we saw multiple mice running around the place. when we asked the server, she was very casual about it, stating that it’s an old building and they can’t fully get rid of them. After we were assured the kitchen is kept clean, we chose to stay because we were very hungry and it was later in the evening.

If the mice issue is resolved, we would likely return. the food was very enjoyable.

We are visiting from out of town, and service was great, food was amazing, and got great recommendations for things to do in Vancouver!

Typical NA pub food but it was still good. The price was not cheap for two with one drink each (~$140 CAD). It’s a little dark for those over 40 but again, not unexpected. The time we went was not crowded and we swerve seated quickly.

I visited twice in July 25. Liked the atmosphere, helped by good background music and a welcoming team behind the bar. Food was good too. I was intrigued by the Brussels sprouts on the menu - an unusual side dish the world over. They were fried with maple syrup and very tasty! A unique offering and worth trying!

Amazing deal. Beer , bourbon and bacon for 12 dollars on happy hour. What a dral! Doug and kerry are the most stupendous bartenders , they actively listen and give recommendations about the menu and are fun to talk to . I can't believe I stumbled on this amazing gem. 10/10 will come again

We had a party of 10 in the back room. Everyone enjoyed everything. The waiters are the best, very helpful and chop chop. I had Nachos, was very good and took some home for another meal. We will be back 🙂

We visited Devil’s Elbow while in Vancouver for the AA International Convention, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From when we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Dan who served as both our server and the manager on duty, and he absolutely made our night.

Dan took the time to walk us through the menu with genuine ease, despite being busy with other tables. His recommendations were thoughtful and spot-on, showing a real understanding of the kitchen’s strengths. As a group not drinking alcohol, we also really appreciated how he highlighted the non-alcoholic options available. It meant a lot to feel included and accommodated in a setting that’s also known for its craft drinks.

The food was absolutely fantastic, flavourful, well-prepared, and satisfying. The atmosphere had a great energy, and despite how busy the restaurant was with the convention crowd, Dan made us feel like we were his top priority.

Devils Elbow hit all the right notes: amazing food, a welcoming environment, and outstanding service. Huge thanks to Dan for making our visit memorable. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re visiting BC Place.

Ash is one of the most incredible servers I have ever come across. From the moment we sat down, the energy was welcoming and genuine. Ash has a natural ability to read the room, offering thoughtful recommendations, great timing, and an effortless charm that made the whole experience feel special. It is rare to come across someone who brings that much care and attention to their role while still making everything feel relaxed and unforced. Every part of our time at Devil’s Elbow was elevated because of Ash. If you are lucky enough to get them as your server, you are in for a great night.

One of the only pubs open on a Monday close to International Village. Good for a quick drink and snack before a movie.

Great beer choices with something for everyone.
Their Mac and Cheese was also super yummy!

I’m pretty disappointed with this restaurant. For a BBQ restaurant downtown I was hoping for better. I shared the platter for two with my son and the ribs were just not good. They were brittle and two dry and the sauce just couldn’t fix this. Honestly everyone at the table tried them and the consensus was that they were yesterday’s ribs. The brisket was just ok as was the pulled pork. My biggest issue was the sausage, it was pink in the centre most of the way through. They brought a second one that was also pink. Instead of owning it they tried to say it was pink because of the chilli flakes in the meat. My issues are you probably shouldn’t serve food that visibly looks undercooked, that’s the first mistake, the second mistake is to doubled down by saying it was cooked and arguing with your customer instead of just saying sorry. Regardless of whether or not it is cooked, how is anybody ever supposed to know for sure that it’s cooked if it presents as pink when it’s cooked? Continuing on two of the meals with special requests came wrong. Now that all said the server was pretty good and handled the food with mistakes well. Though they were supposed to take the sausage off my bill there was zero discount. I realize it came as part of the platter for two but maybe give me my drink for free or discount the platter. Again, no end to the disappointment here.

Drinks were good and the atmosphere is nice but I won’t be back so that doesn’t matter. Sorry all this was just a miss for our entire party of 7.
