Stopped by here at 4pm on a Thursday. Wasn't busy. Wow. Sweet and sour pork was amazing. Some of the best I'd ever had.
We stayed nearby at the Hilton and our dinner at Dim Sum Master was part of our splendid Christmas trip at Vancouver. My wife and I ordered their signature marinated goose platter and the presentation was out of this world. The service was extremely welcoming and friendly.
Amazing experience, loved the shrimp dumplings and 烧卖. Milk tea was tasty and not too sweet. Will be back!
Everything was terrible, this was the worst dim sum I've had in Vancouver. We had a greasy mushy drippy shrimp spring roll, bland beef balls fried in carnival batter, stale hard chewy shrimp and chicken wings, bland frozen dumplings. I saw a cockroach on the way to the bathroom and decided to leave immediately. I should have listened to my gut when we walked into the empty cavernous space and were greeted by someone without a mask who didn't seem to care about covid protocol. Bad vibes all around.
I went to the restaurant and ordered my meal, deep Fried Beef Balls and Shrimp Dumplings. They are very very tasty!!! They also have their self-made spicy sauce, highly recommend that! I want to buy that sauce if it's available for ordering. The restaurant is clean and tidy, their service also nice. Recommended for people who go Downtown shopping and want to have a good meal. They also have good warm tea.Just go there and try their meal!!! Very nice!
We really like this place. They have good dim sum selections and you can’t beat the price! We ordered dim sum combo and you can choose 6 different dim sum items of your choice for 18.99 and another dim sum combo that comes with shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings and sticky rice for 12.99. The place itself is very clean and spacious with nice decor and lots of lights. Service is also good waitress was always making sure that we had everything we needed and our tea and water filled. We’ll be back for sure!
Tl;dr: While I did not try the dim sum while at dim sum master, the overall experience was decent but could use a few more improvements to be a 5 star compared to other Chinese restaurants. The food was good. I had the pork and rice combo and some deep fried wontons. I was largely impressed with the quality of the pork and it was a good mix of crunchy and soft. The wonton were good too but they did have a different taste to them than im used to, not a bad taste but different. Overall the food was as expected for a Chinese restaurant, a step up from take out but not spectacular. 4/5Atmosphere was fine. Decor and table settings were good and nice. Tables were clean and well looked after. However, they lose points for the TV soap operas playing in the background at a volume that was a bit loud, not excessive but it would've been better with music, even better with traditional music. 3/5Service was also just OK. The food took a while to come out for a mostly empty restaurant. I finished my water early on and the server never refilled it without me asking for it. Service was friendly though, but could've used another server as it she seemed a bit overwhelmed as it got busier. 3/5
Fantastic food and relaxing atmosphere at a reasonable price. Love the steamed custard bun and fried chicken.
Just a little very disappointed, too salty on their chef special fried chicken rice, and I got a chicken head included in the dish. I might not be an expert on Dim Sum, most of them are alright, chicken feet smells and taste funny, and rice dumpling with leaf is cold...Place is a nicely renovated, and friendly staff.
This place has the BEST DIMSUM AND CHINESE FOOD!!! I came in here with my mom the other day and wee were greeted by a nice man at the front that sat us at a table right away. All of the employees were very kind and welcoming. This place is relatively new so it was not too busy, but I would recommend everyone in the area to try it out!!! The prices are extremely reasonable for dimsum and the quality of the food was AMAZING! The owner is very hardworking and makes sure all of the guests and employees are well taken care of which is very much appreciated during this time. TLDR: TRY THIS PLACE OUT!!
