Good, authentic Chinese food with good service. Good environment to stay for a while and chat with friends too.

The audacity of that entitled lady to force us to give tips and give us an attitude when we stood our ground. Should have read the reviews before coming here as it seems it is a common occurrence. I’m happy to pay a generous tip but not this time. You cannot bully me to doing it. Never again!

Your noodle dishes are mostly just noodles with very small portions of meat or seafood. It feels like we are paying over $20 just for plain noodles, and the prices keep increasing. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Always reliably above average. Their dumplings are unique.

The rice was great but the noodles lacked a lot of protein. The service was just okay, but it was weird that the waitress ran to me while I was leaving, asked me if the service was okay and when I said yes, she asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I felt forced to leave her a tip.

I’ve been a loyal customer of dinesty Restaurant on Robson for many years, but tonight’s experience was extremely disappointing. When I asked the host to give me one of the empty tables, she said it was reserved. Then I asked for another empty table, and she said it was for a high chair. However, she later gave that same table to people who arrived after us and didn’t use a high chair at all. When I spoke with the manager, Sherry, she said it wasn’t her problem and told me to deal with the host instead. Sherry was very rude and spoke to me angrily, which was completely disrespectful considering my long-time loyalty. Because of this experience, I will never come to your restaurant again.

Really great food and very fast service. Extensive menu and reasonable prices for Vancouver. Gets very busy so go early if you can. They do a nice take out.

Honestly one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We went there with our toddler, as he loves dumplings and fried rice. We ordered the fried tofu in garlic sauce, shrimp & pork shumai, and fried rice and everything fell flat. The tofu was the only thing remotely okay, but even that wasn’t great. The fried rice was undercooked and hard, and when I mentioned it, the server told me, “That’s how our rice is.” I’m Asian, and I’ve eaten across multiple cuisines and countries and no one has ever told me fried rice is supposed to be hard. The shumai were dry, the wrappers tough like they’d been reheated, and the tea had zero flavor, just brown water that tasted like old leaves.
We switched from going to Jingle Bao last minute (big mistake) because we’d had a great experience at Dinesty’s Burnaby location. Completely different story here. The service was inattentive, no water refills, no check-ins, and we had to flag someone down every single time.
When the bill came to around $46, I didn’t tip, not because I don’t believe in tipping (we’re usually very generous tippers and understand the industry struggles with inflation), but because customers aren’t obligated to tip when neither food nor service deserves it. The waitress even came over to ask why I didn’t tip, which was honestly the cherry on top of an already bad experience.
Save yourself the regret and go to Jingle Bao instead, they consistently deliver good food and good service, every single time and are extremely toddler friendly too.

Dinesty dunplings left such a bad taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively

Even though these XLBs are way more affordable, the quality is definitely not half of the more expensive ones out there 👏 The surprise 🌟 for me was the deep-fried tofu pudding - it was so good I had to order a second 🤭 The sauce it comes with is 🤌🏻, so I even used it for my dumplings ✨
