We have been going to Dockside for years. The place seems to have slipped a bit. Not as good as it used to be. Some portions, especially the main dish and fish/seafood items, were very small, almost appetizer size. Doesn't have the same "ambience" , feels much more like a hotel restaurant, at least more than it used to.
A special place for a special occasion - scenery is great, servers are attentive, food is delicious/well priced and since there were not too many people at that time, I would say "not noisy"!
The food was delicious and reasonably fast and the view is spectacular. Kudos to the staff! The only down side is the difficulty of parking on Granville Island on a Saturday morning. I will come again, but maybe next time by bike.
