For a Mexican restaurant, this place is definitely not my shot of tequila. The flavors are so mild, I’m wondering if the seasoning got lost on its way to the kitchen. The quesabirrias are okay-ish, but the rest of the menu? About as authentic as a taco from a gas station in the middle of nowhere. And the staff? Rushing us to eat like we were contestants on a speed-eating show because they wanted to close up. Funny thing is, the food took longer to come out than we did to finish it. A generous 3/5, mostly because it didn’t give me food poisoning.

We ordered the cheesy choriqueso and the fiesta platter to share between two. I’d say the portion is just right to feed two very hungry adults. The flavour was great and the service was good. The happy hour menu seems to be quite popular with the Commercial crowd too. The place is vibrantly decorated. Will definitely visit again.

Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian tacos

Love how they start you off with complimentary tortilla chips and salsa while you peruse the menu. Would recommend their beef chimichanga which was crispy on the outside with soft meaty filling on the inside and the chicken enchiladas. Both entrees came with a good serving of rice and beans. The food was good. The decor is nice too and the service was great. The agua de Jamaica was good but avoid the horchata, it tasted a bit strange and didn’t have fresh rice flavour in my opinion compared to the horchatas from other restaurants I’ve tried.

Good quesadilla 😀🤤

Food was absolutely terrible here. They must have switched owners or something because of a table of 7, 6 people did not like their food.

They didn't have any of the standard Mexican drinks like horchata or Jamaica left during dinner.

Do not eat here!

Got the Pollo Asado platter. The first thing I immediately noticed was the tiny portion. The 2 chicken breast pieces combined was about the amount of meat you'd get from 1 drumstick. The chicken was not seasoned to perfection as the menu stated, but instead tasted like plastic. One of the only times I've left a poor review.

Solid 4.5/5! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the vibes. Took advantage of the happy hour, which is such a great deal! Our server was really sweet. Laptop friendly because it was quiet on a Wednesday afternoon.

Guac - super fresh, could use more acidity though.
Chips - not sure if they’re made in house, but so good! The perfect crispiness
Chicken wings - they were alright, flavour was decent, but the wings were kind of small. Probably would not order again.
Burrito - authentic, good stuff
Sopita - flavours were great, a good kick of heat. Wish it was able to keep the hot temperature (soup got cold quickly)

Free salsa when we sat down! Would come back again.

I got the Barbacoa burrito and the Birria taco trio. The birria was flavourful and cheesy, amazing tacos. The burrito was really tasty; but, all the meat was at the top so after the first few bites, it was just beans and rice. Still was very good though. Atmosphere was good, music was jamming and you get free chips and salsa verde at the start.

This place is a dichotomy, with some good points but also bad. Overall, the food was really lacking seasoning, and there's no salt at the table to do it yourself. I've seen other reviews that say the chips are GF, but the server said they're made in the same fryer, so they aren't celiac safe. I ordered the esquites (elote salad) and it was one of the strangest things I've eaten at a restaurant; a mug of canned corn, mixed with Valentinas, and topped with a thick layer of mayo and cheese. It was super watery and acidic and unlike any other esquites I've had before, and not in a good way. Wouldn't order that again. The drink I had was delicious though! And the birria tacos were pretty good.

Dietary restrictions: GF options but probably not celiac safe

I came for my birthday on October 25 with my mom brother and kids. Service was great, Food was perfect. Very happy I chose to come here. Made my birthday extra special when he brought a cake over. I will continue to come here, for me it’s a commercial drive staple.
