This used to be the one place in the city my other British friend and I could get proper chippy chips, we were so excited when we found out about it because it feels impossible to find in Vancouver. The chips were legit, 100% authentic to the UK and Ireland. We went in the other night craving some chips only to find they've completely changed the menu to basic burgers and fries! Why would they change the food to something you can get at every other bar in the city, and for more money too? Really disappointed that my one place to get a little piece of home is now gone. What's the point in an Irish pub that serves American food? Staff are lovely as always and I would definitely return if they considered changing the menu back to good old Irish food.

The Pawn Shop across the street has all day happy hour ($4.95 draft and $2.50 tacos) on Sunday and Tuesdays. Just an FYI.

Our server clocked out for the day and no one followed up with us at the table so we had to go up to the bar get our bill and we left
Fantastic staff! The Guinness is not only poured proper, but the taste is on point! Was better than the Lion's Pub close to the cruise ship docks! Well worth the trek for a great pint! Bonus, they have Murphy's on tap as well!

I went with my girls for drinks and dancing and thats exactly what we did! I love the atmosphere. Also a huge shoutout to the bartenders. I had a man bothering me and the bartender acted fast, i was very impressed. I felt very safe. I would for sure go again

Happy hour prices not honoured. Small sign inside at right side of bar states credit or debit for payment only. Thanks for the info after I already ordered and consumed. Belligerent bar man said call my bill $10 for the 1 beer ( supposed to be $5.99 plus tax ) and he would charge it to his card. Seriously felt cheated. I was carrying $200 cash. Why would I want to use a credit or debit card. You don't need my banking info ! With so much personal information stolen these days I refuse to be bullied into paying by card. Change your policy and I might return.

Went last week for karaoke night and had an absolute blast, I can definitely say (even if I didn’t have the food) it did smell amazing. I thought I would check this place out after work from time to time on Tuesdays for the good stuff I heard about a place that reminds me of what my great great grandparents would say about Ireland and how it was home to them. I remember one of them talking about Dublin and then when I saw the clock in the bar with the Dublin time and then one with Vancouver time, I smiled, so much. Can’t wait to come again and try the good food from what I can see is there at Donellans.
