The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm throughout the entire visit. The atmosphere at Dovetail is stunning, and the serving staff really helped make the whole experience feel special. A special mention as well to General Manager Alex, who consistently checked in and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening. That level of attention really elevated the experience. Wow !! Went to Dovetail tonight and was completely blown away by not only the food, but the incredible service. The general manager was at the front door, I feel like it’s rare to see this, he was welcoming everyone in and gave us great service. I believe his name was Alec. The rest of the night our server Kiki and Arron were amazing. They recommended all the best dishes and were absolutely lovely. I will be back….tomorrow.

✔️Spicy Vodka A non-spicy creamy vodka pasta in the shape of shell pasta.
There's no meat or vegetables. It’s very creamy, and every shell is fully coated in the sauce. The texture was just right for us,al dente with a slight chewiness.
✔️Butter Beef Tataki The sauce is savory and sweet. Delicious.
✔️BangBang Shrimp This one was actually a little spicy. It has the texture of wasabi shrimp, with a flavor similar to sriracha mayo.
✔️Brussel Sprouts Gives off the vibe of tricking kids into eating their veggies. The Brussels sprouts are pan-fried thoroughly and dipped in garlic aioli, which masks most of their natural bitterness.
✔️Lemon Tiramisu The lemon sauce is refreshing, and since there’s more cake than cream, it’s indeed not overly sweet, my friends all liked it. But I thought it was a bit dry; there wasn’t enough cream.
In the evening, when the lights dim and candles are lit, the atmosphere is really nice.
Although the dishes feel more on the casual side rather than being delicately plated, it’s a great spot to unwind with friends or coworkers after work.

Been here a couple times and it's always been a solid place! Enjoyed their carbonara and mushroom pasta every time, though sometimes their carbonara is a tad too salty for me. The shrimp dish was yummy as well (the sauce has a nice kick). While their ragu is pretty tasty, it has leaned a bit too oily for me both times it's been ordered. Their vodka pasta is pretty good too, but tasted a little bit more one dimensional compared to the other 3 pastas.
Service has always been nice as well!

Negatives: Bolo pasta was decently tasty but for price (even on happy hour) it was too pricey for portion size. I had no leftovers (i was moderately hungrry) and ya it was $30 total with tip. Also my waiter never introduced himself.
Positives: Washroom was clean but small. Dovetail way better than neighbour yaletown Earls fyi. Choose dovetail over that place

Vibes are cool, california inspired and modern.
Our server Liam was super attentive, shared some recos and was just super friendly!
I’ve come numerous times and some of my favorites are the bang bang shrimp, baby gem salad (Caesar), Carbonara, Spicy Vodka Pasta, and the burger. You can’t go wrong with anything though!

Fiancée and I went there for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. I’ve ordered here through delivery service before so I knew I liked the food here.
Went up to the hostess and told her our reservation. When we were going to get seated the hostess said, before we were brought to our seat like in the entrance, and I quote “We will need your table back so if you want to stay longer, just tell your server”. Both of us were a bit taken aback, it’s just the weirdest way to say that you have a 2hr seating limit.
Ordered our food, beer was good but small. Appetizers were good as well. The “famous” bang bang shrimp was good, fiancée said it tasted like calamari more than shrimp but still like it. I wish the carne tacos had double tortilla. We got pasta, “carbonara” and spicy vodka. We loved both, I mixed a little spicy vodka sauce into the “carbonara” and it was amazing! I liked the lemon tiramisu, not too tart and more refreshing, but fiancée thought it was too much lemon and would’ve liked if there was a bit more coffee flavour as a regular tiramisu. However, it kinda look like someone had taken a bite of the tiramisu in the way they serve it cause it’s not a perfect square cut.
Service was okay, I am used to more cheerfulness and smiles. Everyone had a chill, “here you go” which almost felt like they didn’t care you were there.
Cost to portion size seems a bit high, but going to happy hour seems more reasonable! Would recommend going there with friends so you can try more different items or go at least once just to try it out for yourself!
