Happy Hour prices are slightly discounted from regular prices. When served, remember “sides” are an additional charge to the item (eg Burger) you have chosen. The servers were excellent and very attentive. Unfortunately, the noise level coming from larger groups was almost deafening within the patio space where we were seated. I would return, but request the least noisy table location inside, and assure it is secured for my use prior to venturing over for HH.

I came to Dovetail late Tuesday night around 11 PM with a friend. While the food itself was actually amazing, the service completely ruined the experience.After our meals arrived, we had barely eaten and asked for our food to be packed to go so we could save it for lunch the next day. When we got up to use the bathroom, we explicitly told our waitress not to clear the table since our food was already boxed. She confirmed she understood and said she wouldn't touch it.When we came back, our food was gone.We asked multiple staff members if the food had been moved or set aside, and no one took responsibility. Eventually, we were told it had been thrown away because “no one said anything.” This was especially frustrating since we did say something, and the waitress acknowledged it.We paid in full for food we barely ate and never got to take home. No apology, no accountability, and no attempt to fix the situation. The service was careless and dismissive, which completely overshadowed what could have been a great meal.Good food means nothing if the staff can't handle basic communication or respect customers' requests. I won't be returning

Wonderful food choices and flavors. Love the servers, so friendly and helpful and prompt table service. Love the location and seating, comfortable. Bang bang shrimp and olive appie are my faves. Great espresso and desserts as well.

Great spot with a lively atmosphere. We met for Happy Days before the hockey game. Really enjoyed both the Happy and non-happy menu options. We shared the Shishitos, which is the Dovetail version of the reverse lottery of hot peppers...you may get one, you may not. Bang bang shrimp also great. The mushroom and carbonara pastas were tasty and generously portioned for happy hour. Good choice of wines and cocktails. Overall a wonderful first experience and we will be back.

Food was generally ok. One of the forks were dirty. I ordered ginger ale and it was severely watered down. It almost tasted like water with lots of ice.

Honestly really disappointed with my experience. Dovetail is my go-to place, I rave about this place to my friends, come here to celebrate special occasions - and for this visit, I brought my brothers to celebrate their birthday. While the food was fantastic, our server lacked attentiveness. Our food came, and we were missing serving spoons, and while I was looking around, trying to get the attention from anyone, we were sadly neglected. We wanted to order more, but our server never came by and while we were still so hungry for more, when she finally “touched” the table, she removed one of our plates too fast for me to get a word in, with no word asking how we were doing, or if we wanted to order more. I was frustrated and honestly really dissatisfied with the service, so we decided to go somewhere else to fill our stomachs.

Celebrated my birthday here and it was the perfect spot! They got us in early and the staff were very prompt to grab our order. They even wrote me a sweet birthday card that was waiting for us at the table. The food was super fast. Order the carbonara or the ragu... you will not be disappointed
Went here for lunch. The hostess was great and she let us choose our table. After that, the service went downhill. Our waitress gave us the menu and dint come back for another 15 mins. We tried to see if she was around and she was dancing near the bar and chatting with coworkers the whole time. Once we finally were able to wave her down, we ordered the beef carpaccio, bang bang shrimp and carbonara. The beef wasn't very good - it just tasted like soy sauce. The shrimp and carbonara, however, were good. Before we started eating, we overheard the table close to us and both of the pasta dishes they ordered were both extremely salty so we were worried ours would be too. Luckily the pasta wasn't but the beef was (too much sauce?). Overall, nothing to rave about and I won't be coming back. Service needs to be improved for consistency.

The food at Dovetail is fantastic! Overall we love Dovetail but it wasn't the best setting last night for our group. We found it very loud with people standing up behind our table socializing and then yelling and cheering over a football game on the other side. If you want a quieter dinner setting then you may be in the wrong place. The round table would have been ideal but they could not accommodate our group of 8 this year as the table now only seats 6. If you want great food and a "vibrant" atmosphere it is perfect.

From the moment we arrived, the host was so warm and accommodating, and our server was absolutely lovely. Even when our server changed halfway through, the experience stayed incredible. Everyone was genuinely kind, attentive, and welcoming. The food was AMAZING. Hands down my go-to spot in Yaletown. Can't wait to come back.
