Yesterday I came at Dublin Calling, I come often and I love to hang out in this bar, very nice atmosphere. However, yesterday night, I ordered a beer at the bar and a tall guy, long brown hair who was working and serving beers : He put the tip on my behalf on the card reader to pay. I told him that I didn’t agree with the way he handled it and that he had no right to choose the tip for me. He told me to leave and never come back—such a bad attitude and terrible character.

When you first walk in your greeted with a stale stink in the air, you sit down and then are greeted by even stinkier service from a barman who either needs a a long nap or maybe a change of career outside a customer facing role. We arrived 3 minutes before the start of happy hour, he asked us what we were having and we asked him if we order before 3pm if we would be changed for the full price of drinks, he simply replied “what are you having” in a very stern and almost intimidating manner. We then said we are going to wait until the start of happy hour to order to which he then asked to ID us. I know it is a bars right to ID customers however me and my friend are clearly in our late 20’s. The barman thought this was clearly his last shot at not serving us before he had to. Instead of providing ID we decided not to spend our money in his bar. So overall the venue and the attitude of the staff both kick up a stink. Plenty of other bars on that street so I’d suggest anyone avoids this one.

We made a reservation before a comedy show because of the deal. We got there early and no one acknowledged us when we first came in so we just sat at the bar instead. There was someone sitting next to us who had already been served. The bartender had checked on the guest two seats to our right, but didn’t even acknowledge us. We ended up leaving after sitting at the bar for 10-15 minutes without being greeted.

I never thought I would experience such blatant racism in Canada, a country known for its multiculturalism. It’s shocking that white supremacy still exists in this day and age.
Here’s what happened: I ordered a Guinness, left an 18% tip, and was quietly enjoying my meal. Suddenly, a staff member slammed the table and glared at me before storming off. Confused, I asked the manager what the issue was, but their response was, “That’s not my problem, and what’s wrong with slamming the table?” Then they just walked away.
Unbelievable. This is completely unacceptable behavior.

If you’re Asian, I strongly advise you not to visit this place. I came here for the first time based on a recommendation. Although I’ve been living in Canada more than a year, this was the first time I experienced such blatant racism.
We only stayed briefly, drinking beer without causing any trouble, and We're left a sufficient tip(+18%)However, the server was leaving after her shift, she suddenly hit our table hard with her hand and glared at us before walking out.
Confused and upset, we reported this to the manager, but they dismissed the situation, saying they hadn’t witnessed it themselves.
If we had done something rude, I would completely understand. But all we did was quietly drink beer for an hour among ourselves. This was by far the worst service I’ve experienced in Canada, and I still can’t understand what happened.
I don’t know the nationalities of your staff, but you are operating a business under the name of a nation’s capital. I hope you take responsibility for what that represents.

Brilliant display of incompetence not just one night but two nights in a row.
Night#1 Server stood over us and took 5 minutes to find a Michelob on the iPad instead of just remembering it and ringing it through at the bar
Following night (after a switched on server was about to bring us about $60 worth of drinks we had already ordered) the same server from previous night asked us for $20 each for the privilege of sitting to watch UFC despite us arriving well before this set $20 rate came into effect.

Nice vibe, service and servers where outstanding, Food was not great. Had the guineas steak pie. Was all crust, small portion of filling was tasty but only a cup or so. My partner had the fish and chips... was very much like a frozen fish stick with McCains fries. Even with the 20% off for going to a show at the Vogue was still not worth the money for the food. I'd recommend for beer and watch a game....nothing more.
